What is the best wax you can get shine, depth and clarity on black paint ?
 
Souvern is the best I have used to date. Not the longest lasting, but looks are incredible.
 
The answer to that questions is completely subjective.
It can also depend on the quality and type of paint, and clear coat, on the vehicle.

I would also suggest not to get caught up in the idea that the more expensive the wax, the better the wax.
In some cases that might prove true, but there are plenty of great waxes out there on the low end of the price scale that can bring award winning results.

Also consider the entire picture.
- Quality paint correction job.
- Polish.
- Coating
- Sealant.
- Wax.

Combinations of products used and work performed can bring the best, and worst, out of products.

Yup, that's exactly what I was thinking... I remember watching Loaches youtube video review and he said/showed it did absolutely nothing to distinguish itself from Megs 26 Yellow Paste Wax. Actually neither of them were all that noticeable from before and after on his Hondas Blue Metallic paint.

wolfgang fuzion IMO. However, I think you'll find the best thing you can do is to fully correct and refine the polish. That perfection will create endless depth and clarity. from there Fuzion or a coating.

A lot of sensible advice in the responses I have seen so far. This is a very subjective and difficult question to answer definitively. Unfortunately, it will ultimately come down to you just having to go by trial & error.
Surface preparation is absolutely key. A well prepped surface topped with a $7.00 can of Turtlewax can look amazing!

That being said...
I have a 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 in black, black as the night! No metal flake....just BLACK! As I am sure many here have also done, I have literally spent the past couple of years experimenting with a wide variety of Last Step Products (LSP's).

Here is where I am at, and I think I have finally found the "perfect formula" for my black car and the regimen and the climate I live in (desert).
After thorough surface prep, I LOVE the look of Poorboy's Black Hole Glaze topped with Blackfire BlackIce. I didn't think it was possible for my black car to get any darker and richer.....more "black," but with this formula it is truly stunning!
Pictures, at least the ones I can take, won't come close to doing it justice. As I see it, this is the way BLACK was meant to look!!
Do give this combination some serious consideration. Try buying the smaller jar of BlackIce, it is much cheaper if you don't want to commit to it just yet. The Poorboy's Black Hole is relatively inexpensive....but so worth it.

Lastly....enjoy the journey!! Really. As you experiment, you will likely find much happiness along the way as you try some new products. It can be very fulfilling to see the results of your time, money and sweat equity.

I'm just curious because I have some Pinnacle sovereign and I can't imagine anything being better than this stuff!
But I do see a lot of stuff going for $800 $1000 $2,500 that comes in a fancy machined aluminum box or a crystal box and was wondering what makes that wax so expensive is it really that good? I could barely afford my Pinnacle sovereign but using it on a motorcycle I will get quite a few wax jobs out of it so it was worth the purchase for me.

BTW my stable of fine automobiles consist of a 2003 Toyota Camry that has probably been washed twice since I bought it in2005 and a 2000 Harley Electra Glide that looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor because I take care of it.

I have used the Pinnacle Black Label Synergy on my black metallic paint on top of a coating of Pinnacle I applied and it was brilliant. It was rather expensive however it indicates you are suppose to get about 25 applications which I may have used more than I should have as it will only last for maybe 10 applications.

I tried uploading the photos however indicates upload failed. Any ideas why? Any size limitations?

A large Detailer in my area swears by Perfect it 06064 and I've seen results myself. The black Truck ...Just outstanding so I've ordered some to try for myself. What I don't know is the sequence before nor the tool/pad the they use.
 
It's hard to go wrong with Meguiar's M26.

I do use Zymol Creame and Carbon a lot too.

I usually put wax on top of a sealant.
 
Unless you paint is dead flat which is highly unlikely unless you have a custom painted car that was painted, wet sanded, compounded, and polished to perfection , any good quality wax will provide you shine, depth and clarity.

Shine, depth and clarity come from how flat the paint is
