Hey all - these are our daily tools :

Cyclo

Makita

DA Similar to PC but forget what its called lol - its sold here though :/


Cyclo pads are cyclo pads - we get maybe a month out of those pads before the velcro starts coming off. I've come to except that - we use them extensively.


Now the big question - We tried the pads with the little circles in them and they had onlya couple of uses in them before falling apart. The pads with squares in them have lasted longer and cut very well, but the CG hex pads with a rubber lining have by far out lasted all others. What are you alls recommendations for the pads with the best Cut, Polish ablities and are super durable?


(Please excuse my ignorance of pad names lol, I can never remember by name - only what they look like :o)
 
Thanks Dave! Is that second pic a MF pad? Also, do you prefer those other two pads over waffle pads?




By the way - I was gonna call you the other day to see how things are..... Im sure I had some fire to put out and it slipped my mind - but was definitely thinking of you man.

I'm glad to hear someone's thinking of me. Thanks bud!! It's always a pleasure to hear you on the other end. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

The second pic is a Lake Country UltraFiber pad. Pretty tough pad once yo get the hang of using them.

The other 2 are Poorboy's 5.5" Variable Contact For Flex VRG polishers. They actually measure in at almost 7" across so I'm not sure why he calls them 5.5" but in my experience they are very tough rotary pads and finish with way less holograms because of the pad's contoured shape. I do prefer them over the waffle pads.
 
3m perfect it iii double sided. 2 for the price of 1 and u have 2 purposely try 2 mess them up. Take care of them and they last forever
 
I've never had a Buff & Shine pad shread, blow up or Velcro separate. They make 4" pads for the Cyclo, larger pads for rotarys and 5.5" flat pads for the DA as well as hex pads. I believe they make the CG Hexlogic pads you were happy with.
 
If TusccaroraDave makes a suggestion...

...you can take it to the bank it's a rock solid suggestion coming from experience.

Buff and Shine, only ever had two go bad on me while working though, a rupes microfiber blew apart and the backing came off a meguiars mf pad.
