Looking for the Collinite that is most durable, but still gives great shine and depth. Any ideas? 845, 476, or 915? This is for my parents car, which I wont be working on a lot since I am at school for 8ish months out of the year and only come back sparingly. I plan to use Wolfgang 3.0 sealant on it first. Is that a good idea? Its for a dark blue benz. I know there is a topic below, but Im trying to get a feel for these three. Thanks all

Chris

I've got no experience with those that you listed. There have been many on here say positives about all three. The one that I use and continue to replace is the "Fleetwax" #885 (link below). I've used it on my motorhome. My neighbor has used it on about six different cars. All looked great. I'm very pleased with looks and durability.
Collinite Paste Fleetwax # 885

Wolfgang DGPS is pretty tough stuff. Easy on and easy off. That's the one I would go with for your parents' vehicles as the Collinite waxes are insanely durable, but difficult to buff off.

I have used 476s on two different occasions on some sections for the first time recently and it does not seem that difficult to buff off. I did not wait that long -- just long enough to haze -- before removing. I thought if anyone would have issues with it it would be me because I usually apply it too thick when doing it by hand.

I'd vote 476 -looks good and very durable. I have never had any issues removing either

The most durable Collinite wax is 476S. The best looking is 915. The easiest to apply/remove is 845. These are your options.

915 is definitely the best looking and lasts longer then any carnauba paste wax I have ever used. It's my wax of choice for my dailey drivers.

I used #885 the last time I waxed (January...!!) and the water is still beading up, though not as nicely as back in Jan.

I had a durable collinite, but the doctor removed it last week
during my collinoscopy

Just FYI 885 is the same as 476S, and is a slightly better value. It's the most durable wax I've encountered and is fairly good looking and easy to use.

Fwiw. Out of about 30 waxes with carnauba, 915 was one of the few waxes left standing after 6 1/2 months. Test was done last year. 915 beat 476s by several months.

The person testing these products was the same person who tested the sealants not long ago. Wolfgang 3.0 was one of the few left standing in the sealant test.

Also, in a blind test on another board 915 beat out Z. Royale, Z-2, Raceglaze, Autoglym, and raceglaze. Best of show was voted ahead of 915, by a few points. However, several of the main testers said "side by side" they couldn't tell the difference in BOS, and 915. Another good thing.. 915 is cheaper, and last longer than others tested.

I've tried both 845 and 476s and I'd say if you were to choose between the two, 845 hands down.

476s was probably the most disappointing product I've tried in recent memory.

If you've got anything interesting you're willing to trade for I'd send you my 3/4 full tin of 476s (even in light of this glowing endorsement). LOL

I have been using 845 on my 4Runner and Corolla and not only am I impressed with the shine and gloss and ease of removal, it LASTS!

Has anyone tried the SS126? I heard it lasts longer than 845 and want to put this on all my vehicles in October because they won't get waxed again until March.

Why was it disappointing? Hard to remove, or was it something else??

Fwiw. 845 and 476s are made with the same ingredients according to Collinite.

If you're looking for the most durable collinite, that should be 476s. However, I think DGPS 3.0 is at least as durable if not more so, than any collinite.

Last time I was at harbor freight they had 915 & 845 on the shelf. $4.95 for one and $6.95 for the other. I only bought two of each, probably should have cleaned the shelves off.

I'm hesitant to buy more than one of anything nowadays. I find I'm always getting new products and the old ones rot before I finish them anyway. And if they sell them in smaller sizes, I always get the smaller size even if it's not as good a value. Chances are, I won't finish the smaller size before it rots too!

Maybe I don't detail enough! haha

Difficult to remove and the protection and durability were abysmal. I tired it on two different cars, one with SS paint and one CC and both were very disappointing.

845 on the other hand goes on easy, comes off easy and seemed to last much longer for me.
