Most Foolproof Sealant/Wax?

Try Ultima Paint Guard Plus. As long as you follow the directions, you will find it the easiest product in the world to use--wipe on and walk away, no buffing off. You'll love the look it gives to your white Honda, especially after the second coat.

Just got my Opti-seal!! :D

I'll try it out tomorrow!
The thing that made me buy opti-seal besides ease of use, protection and shine was that, after laying down a coat, it cures in 30 mins and is ready for another coat!!! :D

According to David Ghodoussi, Opti-Seal takes up to 12 hours to fully cure. If you wish to add a second coat, you may want to take this into consideration, for optimal protection.

Thanks!!

I read that a lot of ppl were layering coats after 30 mins as opti-seal flashes so quickly!

Couple months ago when I knew nothing about detailing. I was using Meguiar's Nxt 2.0 wax. It was very easy to use and it wipe off very easy. And can be found at any local store.

Also Collinite 845 I read is amazing stuff, protection last long and its not expensive. I don't know how hard it is to remove it but it shouldn't cant be as bad as Klasse. lol

I recently used Klasse gloss sealant and that thing was very hard to remove. When I was buffing it off I was putting a lot of pressure removing the excess.

Collinite 845 is a great wax but make sure you apply it THIN. This is a petroleum product and if applied too thick you'll end up with a greasy oily mess.

I apply it with my Porter Cable DA using a blue or red pad on a speed of 3. Work it back and forth many times until it almost disappears, wait 30 seconds or so then buff with a clean Microfiber towel. The time of 30 seconds is not important and I've even left it on for over 30 minutes and no problems what-so-ever buffing it off.

Collinite Liquid Insulator Wax #845, liquid wax, heat-resistant wax, car wax

Directly from Collinite

"To apply by machine: work at a low speed with no pressure since you are simply applying a product. Use a microfiber bonnet over a lambswool pad to remove Insulator Wax. Apply wax to one section at a time, wait 30 seconds, and then buff."

If I applied Klasse sealant gloss with a DA, would I be wasting a lot of product? It was not enjoyable apply it on. The stuff was so slick it kept rolling off my application pads.

I only use blue pads with cheaper wax like for M26 and Nxt. I'm afraid I would be wasting a lot vs hand applications. But I love using the DA for apply wax so much easier and faster.

And getting micro bonnet for DA good for buffing out wax? And is one enough or you need a couple?

Opti-Seal begins to bond to the paint immediately, but it still takes time for the polymers to cross-link fully. If one intends to apply a second coat, the more time you can allow the sealant to cure the better: 30 minutes is better than 0 minutes, 60 minutes better than 30 minutes, 3 hours better than 1 hour, with 12 hours being the optimal curing time. Of course, not everyone can wait 12 hours--one can only do the best one can do.

Opti-seal, WG DGS, or 4* UPP all look great on white and are fool proof. I'm really loving UPP on my crystal white paint and my wife dark blue paint.

Wow, I should have never posted this, I am going to go BROKE!!!

I think I am going to go with UPGP to start with. I was thinking of getting Megs 21 and Duragloss 105, and I will later on as they are both available locally, but for the cost of both I could pretty much get the Ultima.

I have never heard or read a bad review of Ultima. Even using generous amounts, how many vehicles can I get out of one 12oz? Also, what are your methods of applying it, do you use the microfiber applicator that comes with it, or a foam applicator.

As always, you guys/gals are top knotch! Thanks for all of the responses!

I like WGDGPS. However, I think ant product that must cure for 12 hrs would be eliminated from easy to use. Maybe easy to use but inconvenient to use.

Its not like you have to leave it on the paint 12hrs before wiping. Apply it, grab a beer, wipe it off. I'm pretty sure most sealants have similar cure times.. Not everyone advertises it though.

Why would you want to apply another coat. I would apply the single coat one day, give it time to cure and follow up with a thin coat high gloss wax if so desired.
