Mother’s CMX is here!

I just ordered the Ech2o waterless wash from Auto Geek.
Thanks for the heads up!

I just finished up wiping my Harley down with Ech2o. I got it last night, and I wanted to use it on my truck, but it’s been raining off and on all day.
So I went into the garage and wiped down my bike with it. It was filthy from the last ride, and had fingerprints all over it from changing out my heated grips for new ones.
I must say, I’m impressed with the way it turned out.
I’ve always sworn by BugSlide when it comes to the bike. It’s been my go to for a few years now, but I think I like the Ech2o better.
It’s a little more labor intensive, but it looks fantastic!

I wish I had it with me when we rode to Milwaukee last April. We hit every season in 7 days. Started off in just a jacket. Second day, lots of sunscreen and a t-shirt.
From there on in, it was rain/sleet/snow/hail & ice.
We slid into Chicago sideways!
When I got home and took my air cleaner cover off, it looked like a salt encrusted Chilean sea bass. LMAO!

FYI for those looking to pick this up locally, pep boys has it at 25% off if ordered online and picked up. Not bad for a total of $15 before taxes. I didn’t order it but just passing it along.

Ech2o RW ratio, anyone? I don’t feel like searching... if possible.
IIRC I went with 2 oz for 4 gallons. The product is so thick that it works out pretty good like this. I make extra so I can pre-treat to a level I feel comfortable and not worry about shorting myself during the cleaning. I've done both the GD method as well as Aqua sponge with great success. Some people might also go higher to be even safer and that's fine too, doesn't hurt but don't go to high of a ratio, the product goes a long way!

Today I washed (with Reset) the panel I used CMX on about 21 days ago. The beading was not great and the dirt rejection properties were pretty much gone. I’ll continue to use CMX as a topper, but as a stand-alone coating it was lacking. CMX is better than many of the toppers on the market, especially at the price point, but IGL Premier and Kamikaze Overcoat are still the only two toppers I have used that stand up 24/7 3+ month torture.

On glass the beading was gone, no idea why.

What you’re seeing is actually just simple overspray. Due to the chemistry of CMX Ceramic Spray Coating, it just happens to be more visible / substantial than other spray products you’re used to, but rest assured that it will not affect performance or harm your paint. It dusts away with little or no effort, and is not considered a problem. We are addressing this from the user experience side in our instructions, aimed at minimizing overspray by recommending spraying the product onto a microfiber towel or applicator pad. Thank you guys again for all of your feedback and support.

This has been a complaint I've read on amazon reviews as well. They say it's like a dust, sorts like when wiping off a wax after it's hazed. It's been described as "little white beads" that get stuck in places like rubber window seals.

Is it something that is coming out of the sprayer? Or is it dried product?

Yeah I’m fighting myself from buying overcoat and premier. I would say if you get a chance hydrosilex V2 was a winner 4 months and still awesome beading. Not the slickest though. I did however put on 3 coats in the begininning. Passed along to a neighbor and he commented that was not the glossiest but protection wise was a thumbs up. I will now pass the third of bottle left to a coworker just paid some guy $225 to wash and hand wax his car. Now he needs to maintain it. I now have Clutch, reload (2nd chance), and PA Cosmic spritz gyeon cancoat , Dr B’s plasma coat, advance coat gloss, and tacs moonlight to play with....yet the overcoat still calls.

Hmm, I thought this stuff was 1oz/gallon for rinseless, I think that's the way I used it, I've only gotten to use it once or twice though.

Oh wow that's not good.

Mine seems to be doing ok, but has not seen any rain or snow recently. I may just do a quick touchless car wash to see how it does. Its been 2 weeks and last rain it saw it performed well.

I hate running my comparison test because I love washing with Ech2o!

Looks great I'm glad you like it! It's very versatile and can be used as a great QD as well.

And TAC Moonlight, PA Cosmic and Viking were somewhat close behind, correct?

Yep correct. TAC Moonlight and Overcoat, then Premier, Cosmic, Viking. Overcoat may be better than Moonlight. I need to run them side by side one day. Premier sheds dirt the best of any of them. If Overcoat was half the price it is I would throw all my others away (maybe, lol). Overcoat is for black tie occasions only. Thanks again Budget.

Thanks! Those 5 remain the only ones in my ‘coating lite’ list (besides CanCoat). I’ve tentatively moved CMX out. New post to document my SiO2 Sprays and Coating Lites is coming soon to Autopia.
