Anyone use this? I've had very good results cleaning my trim, but I'm concerned despite the claims that this has some sort of cover up quality rather than just being a 'deep cleaner'.

Usually to deep clean my trim (primarily of mag chloride and road grime) I use straight Dawn + a medium scrub brush. It works pretty well, but takes quite a bit of elbow grease.

The Mother's worked a lot faster (suspiciously fast), with a lot less elbow grease, but does seem to leave some sort of greasy film behind.

Anyone have experience with this after a few weeks/months?

I'veot you covered...it's not a cover up I can assure you.

Little side note...

Two years ago I completely compounded and polished out by Trailblazer. Since then I haven't taken the time to tend to paint chips and such that I'd hoped to do, then I was going to Opti-Coat it.

Since polishing it out I kept noticing that the paint kept wanting to turn back dull and such underneath the windows and it took me forever to figure out was going on. It was the trim oxidizing...you could see the rainbow effect it was having on the paint and you could tell where this oxidation was running down the paint...and it won't hardly wipe off.

So, I bought some Mother's B2B Trim Cleaner three months ago and cleaned 4 inches of the trim on each side of the vehicle with the intent to not clean any more of it for several months. I did not apply any dressings to the cleaned spots, nor does it appear that way today. It still looks like the day I cleaned it...like rubber that needs a dressing, as in rubber that looks dry...and I know that even the cleaned spots have since oxidized too and will need thoroughly cleaned again...and when I do this I'll seal the trim with a quality trim sealer.

Fast forward to today...and the cleaned areas of trim are still extremely vizible and much cleaner than the rest of the trim. Before I attack and finish the trim I'll take some pictures and post them on this thread, but it may take me awhile as my schedule is swamped.

My point is...Mothers B2B Trim Cleaner does as described...and does it very well. Money well spent in my opinion.

Heck...don't take my word for it...try it yourself. It's not like the investment is that large. When you do take time to post to this thread again and share your thoughts.

I agree, Mothers works! It's got me thinking about trying more of their products.

I agree with rest of guys here......it works very well.

The Mother's worked a lot faster (suspiciously fast), with a lot less elbow grease, but does seem to leave some sort of greasy film behind.

This stuff seems to be just a thickened surfactant (think a thick, mild APC). That greasy film is just leftover cleaner, wash it off and it won't be greasy anymore.

I'm not really sure what to say about this product, the initial reviews were astounding, so I bought some. When I got it I was curious about it, so I squeezed some out onto my fingertips and thought it was simply a silicone oil, but it washed off my fingers with no residue. It also washes off the trim you have cleaned...along with that "new" look that the residue provides.

The reason I don't know what to say is I'm puzzled why the instructions don't tell you to wash it off after. They do tell you to dress after you use it, which to me doesn't make much sense, I don't know if a dressing will adhere properly on top of a layer of cleaner.

It's a great product. Works very well. The brush is a little stiff but it gets the job done for textured trim. For smooth trim mothers detail brushes work really good. The trim does appear to be renewed after the left over residue is removed. It can be washed off if desired.

Just for kicks I decided to try out meguiar's ultimate black onto that same piece of trim and it's been holding up fine for just over 1 month. I did the same with wolfgang trim sealant and it's held up fine as well. So in my experience I have had no issues applying it after initially wiping off the remaining residue.

So do you think it performs any better than an apc for cleaning trim?

I only did a small test on some hard trim (windshield cowling). What's nice about it is that it's a gel, so it stays on the surface without running off or drying.
