OK I was at Pepboys the other day looking at a fitting. I wanted a new wheel cleaner so I saw this and picked it up. After working on my car the other day I decided to wash it, perfect time to try out the new wheel cleaner.
now keep this in mind. My car is a project car. its a 98 cobra Ive been doing a built motor, 03 cobra top end swap on. It has been parked since June 2011. It has not been washed since then. I tried using some diluted Zep Citrus on the rims not to long ago and to me it had absolutely no cleaning power on them. They were still dirty.
So i took this Mothers wheel cleaner and used it according to the directions. I sprayed it on a dry, cool wheel liberally to make sure the whole rim was coated. I let it sit for a few minutes while I used the ZEP on the tires. ( I did not agitate with the Mothers due to the fact I didn't have a soft bristle brush). I came back and rinsed off the rims.
Wow what a difference. The rims ALOT cleaner then they were before! Of course they didnt look like glass from just this but they were 100% better then before. After this and after I got the rest of the car washed I used a wash mitt and washed the rims as well. Unlike before they cleaned up but there was hardly any grime or black residue on the mitt.
My rims now look like glass and I plan on putting a sealant on just as soon as I can find the time to go outside and do it. I would recommend this cleaner to anyone who needs cleaner for chrome rims. I know its OTC and there is probably something else out there but it was cheap, fast, and easy to use. Ill try to get some pictures soon and update this thread.
