Mothers Cleaner Wax???

Yes it can, although mild as far as its cleaning ability. It wont strip it down as good as a dedicated paint cleanser though.

That's what I thought, not what exactly the product I was looking for but it never hurts to have extra quality products to use. In your opinion what do you prefer for a pre wax cleaner to strip All of the previous waxes?

You can go about stripping your LSP in different ways, although I prefer a dedicated product like Griot's Garage Paint Prep or CarPro eraser.

Keep in mind, Griot's makes a product called Pre-Wax clenser that is intended to remove polishing oils after polishing/compounding only. Pre-Wax clenser is sprayed on and wiped off vs Paint Prep which needs to be sprayed down.

Anytime you use a cleaner wax, or an abbrasive product like a polish, your stripping the LSP.

If your wanting just to strip the LSP in order to start fresh, I recommend getting a dedicated product thats designed to do so. If your polishing/compounding a car, then theres no need to strip off the old wax/sealant.

Does Mothers Brazilian Carnauba Cleaner Wax strip previous waxes from the paint?

I would say that how well it strips the LSP is dependent on how it is applied. I always pick up some dirt on my pads so I know it is cleaning and stripping. I mainly use cleaner/waxes on the roof of tall vehicles; top it with OCW and I am good for many months.

Im not sure that eraser is going to strip LSP's, only the polishing oils.

CarPro Eraser is an IPA and more! Eraser is an intense cleaner designed to dissolve oil particles and remove polish residue to prepare the paintwork for Cquartz. Eraser attracts polish residue and dust better and cleans better than an ordinary IPA. Eraser makes it possible for everyone to get the perfect Cquartz finish.

CarPro Eraser+ clay bar does the trick. Some people claim clay bar in general will strip LSP, but IMO its very mimimal. A high concentration of IPA will also do it, but I dont recommend that option.

What are you trying to accomplish?

If you are just wanting to strip old wax, you could always get a soap (like chem guys citrus wash) that will strip a good bit of wax, then follow with clay-bar and a polish or compound after that. Then just use something to prep after that, like a paint-cleaner or something (possible even eraser).:xyxthumbs:

Why not just use Joy or Dawn dish soap to strip LSP's? Thats what I do.

Dawn works OK, I used to love it. After using Citrus Wash, I've stopped using Dawn for prep washes. Dawn just seems old fashioned to me now.

That being noted, if you like dish soap for prep washes, use what you like. But I highly recommend trying Citrus Wash or a similar product at some point for prep washes.

Dawn is definitely cheaper, but I Citrus wash is a lot better for the purpose of stripping LSPs.

Lol good discussion.
And yeah I was just trying to figure out how effective it was. But after reading all this I think I'll start using the Citrus Wash :xyxthumbs:

I agree. Mother's Cleaner wax in excellent product and If you look at my threads, I use it often for a variety of projects. However as far as stripping lsp, there are better alternatives.
