Depends on how curvy the panel is. I've had no issues with mine stalling on curves. As someone pointed out, this will stall like any other DA that is not forced rotation.

Being a free spindle machine and not a forced rotation, I can't see how it can keep spinning on curves with a little pressure (15 lbs).

I use Buff-n-shine small plates with no issues.


For what it's worth to the OP...

...I'm big enough to stop my rotary with or without my Dynabrade attachment. They don't make a machine with any more power than a rotary.

The point...use common sense and good technique...and know the machines limitations and you'll be fine with any machine you choose.

Just look at how often Mike Phillips still promots the PC7424xp...even though people still have trouble with it stalling. It stalls because they didn't realize that the machince was tilted slightly, or they put too much pressure on it.

Mike uses good technique and accomplishes anything he puts his hands to...with any machine.

Another plus for the 7424xp is that the spindle housing is smaller than that on the g110v2, and gg6. It makes it easier when using smaller plates / pads.

LC hydrotech pads, and Menzerna polishes really help maximize the performance of the PC.

everyone has their own opinions/likes and dislikes on polishers and if you can get your hands on both and decide then that would be the best option as you can weigh the pros and cons (haven't used the mt300 but would like to try it out someday since we are all obsessed with polishers lol) for yourself. the GG6 has been around for years and has been proven to be one heck of DA with lots of torque/power, great warranty and excellent customer service. IMO every detailer/enthusiast should own at least one traditional PC style DA and the only one you'll most likely ever have to buy would be the GG6. you'll have no worries if a problem occurs with it unlike some others when the warranty runs out. it's peace of mind... :dblthumb2:

Then I wouldn't have had to post the question. I will get my hands on a GG 6" in a few weeks (friend), but not the MT 300.

one main reason I would like to try out the MT300 is to see if the torque/power is at the same level of the GG6 (seems like many have said it doesn't). yes, the ergonomics and noise also play a big role in a purchasing decision, but if it lacks in the torque/power department then I can sacrifice a little in those other areas (may be different for other's). if you buy the GG6, you can always upgrade later (if you desire) and you will always have at least one traditional PC style DA in your arsenal which IMO everyone should have...

I just used my new GG 6" today after my MT300 broke after only polishing 17 cars. The MT300's cord broke and to finish that days job I had to mess with the connection point to keep it working. I had two more cars scheduled for this week and luckily amazon prime's next day shipping had me a GG6 without having to cancel a detail.

I am extremely disappointed that the cord went out after only 17 cars as it was a problem with their last DA polisher and it seems they never fixed it. I would avoid the MT300 for this reason alone. I will be sending in my mt300 for warranty repair but now I have two mediocre polishers for the price of what could have almost bought me a Rupes.

When I called my local detailing supplies store they said they "had a table fully of MT300's ready to be sent out for new cords already" so this seems to be a widespread problem.

Strengths of the Mt300 vs GG6:
-slow start trigger is actually very useful
-it vibrates less
-overall better ergonomics

Strengths of the GG6 vs Mt300:
-still slightly more powerful
-sounds a little better (not necessarily any quieter just better)
-It hopefully won't leave me stranded without a polisher after doing 17 cars.

If your detailing anywhere near 17 cars - buy a Rupes or a Flex, Lolz. Remember, Rupes and Flex are first and foremost toolmakers - the rest of this stuff in made in China by companies sub-contracted by "detailing companies" that make a menu of products.

It's like I wouldn't buy a washer made by Tide.

Read the book "Poorly Made in China" & you will see where I'm coming from.

Basically, in life, you often get what you pay for.

Yup. It seems almost anyone these days can make a decent polish. I don't think it's nearly as complex as making a machine.

Thanks for the input but when I worked for someone we had a Porter cable 7424xp that lasted for hundreds of cars (still works) for waxing and that isn't an expensive polisher.
