How hard is the paint on a 2008 Mustang?

Any special precautions to take with this paint?

Thanks guys.

I've read they tend to be more to the side of hard, but not GM hard.

The paint on my 2011 Mustang is so soft that it mars if you breathe on it!

The 2007 mustang i did had medium soft paint. UC and a orange flat pad got me about 95% correction.

My daughters 05 was rock hard at least I thought it was..

Did a black one of those a month or so ago. It was medium/hard. Not what I would call a hard clear but darn close. Got good correction with an Optimum MF Pad and some HD Polish. I was just doing a 1-step.

All the mustang paint I've dealt with has been medium hardness to soft. The only precaution are stay off the edges and don't try any major spot repairs near corner on horizontal panels, as those areas seem to be the thinnest. MF pads work really well on mustang paint and with a compound like FG400 you can finish nearly lsp ready.
What polisher are you using? And what polishes?

Blackfire SRCFP (pad ?)
Blackfire WD (pad?)
Blackfire MS (by hand)

I would do a test spot with the BFFP and a light cutting pad or polishing pad to see what correction you get. Use slow arm speed and moderate down force with the PC set to 5-6, and you should remove majority of the defects. Otherwise, the d300 should remove all defects including deeper RIDS, but may unnecessarily remove clear coat in the process. So just make sure you do a test spot with both.

I have different experiences with different Mustangs. 2001 black GT, easy correction on very swirled paint. 2005 Red GT, very difficult to work with super hard. 2013 Gotta Have It Green, super easy to work with.
