My 2010 Black Mustang GT

Ya, but a nice set of mufflers isn't gonna make up for 100bhp. You're gonna need to do some serious modding. I'm not that familiar with American Cars, but I am familiar with V8's and there isn't much room to play with a naturally aspirated V8 that will compensate for that much power. Maybe look into a blower.

I love the way Mustangs rumble with a nice set of mufflers, and a nice set of headers.

lol I thought the same thing. I've owned Mustangs for over 15 years. Currently working on my second Mach. There is no way he's going to get over 100 hp with cheap bolt on's. A catback exhaust is roughly 15hp. The only way you will reach 410hp is with power adder or internal work.

The car itself however looks very nice. I've always liked black the best on Mustangs.

good god..Enough with the exact amount things will add. I came from owning a toyota and cheap bolt on for that where twice the price as parts for this car so its a different thing..I guess my idea of cheap isnt everyones idea of cheap..But enough is enough I am not building the car to race it so whatever HP I get from what i do to it is fine with me..if I get to 380...thats great

05xrunner,
Welcome to the world of owning a Mustang. Everyone who loves them will always be bench racing and talking about horsepower. The Mustang has an incredible amount of aftermarket parts so there is always a way to improve horsepower and we Mustang fans will always encourage our Mustang friends to jump on the improvement craziness. As you have just found, we are an enthusiastic bunch. Don't let it bother you. It is good to have friends. :)

05Xrunner, you must have purchased the V6 Mustang since your not worried about having power, as you stated.

Purchasing the V8 would let everyone know you were in fact wanting the power.

The 2011 V6 Mustang has nearly as much power as your V8 and gets 31 mpg to boot. Hmmm, just don't understand.

I hear ya man. You came in here talking about about how hard it is to get your new black GT's paint perfect and got mugged. I swore after my last black car that I'd never have another one, now I have two. It's definitely the hardest color to maintain, but when you get it right, and it's clean and waxed, no other color compares. I'm a Ford guy and I'd love a new GT, be it a 10 or an 11. My last one was an 87 GT back in the day.:xyxthumbs:

the new 11's have me looking twice, but would have definitely skipped on the 10's. if not for the motors, then the 6-speed tranny. If you are happy that is all that matters. They must be giving the 10's away now that the 11's are spec'd.

Personally I would get a V6 2011 and find a good twin turbo setup and get into the mid 500's.

Sounds like a good idea. Not so sure you'd hit the 500 mark, but I like it.

How about the new commercial showing the sterling grey metallic V6? That car looks sick! I love the color and the black wheels on it.

shouldn't be too hard to hid mid 500's. I am into the Z33 (350z) and it is fairly easy to do with a 3.5 v6. with a newer motor, more displacement, it should be even easier

I had a triple black 99 Cobra. Man alive was it ever hard to keep looking perfect. BUT, when it was clean...never has a car looked so nice. Nothing beats clean shiny black paint. Everyone who sees it will have something nice to say once you detail that baby up.

FWIW 4 Star UPP looked like the black paint was dipped in a candy shell. Never cared for 4 Star on other colors but on black...forget about it.

have fun boosting with 11:1 compression
we're getting off topic, but now days, not as hard as you think.

I had my Z boosted with 10.3:1 and the newer ones are boosting with 11:1. Regardless, always an option to lower the compression to 8.5:1 or 9:1

ok..so this topic is pretty much dead..was about paint then people had to get stupid and make it all about how much power.

thinking if you would have waited and gotten an 11, we would likely still be talking about paint

My god lay off the guy, he got the car that he wanted to get and it does what he wants it to do, that's ALL that matters.

Runner, don't worry about what these guys are saying, its a stunning car.

its cool..it just proves the insecurities he has with himself that the power of a car has to make up for his short comings. Hence why it seems all he cares about is what power it has

:iagree::nomore: What's wrong with you guys? He posted here to talk about paint (not brag about HP) and all you guys seem to want to do is dis him...Not cool, and not what most of us are about here on this forum. If he wanted to talk about ponies he'd be on the "Mustang Forums". How would you feel if we started picking apart your rides? (Which BTW I don't even see pictures of...hmm) Don't sweat it 05xrunner it is a very sweet ride!!!
