My baby is back!!! :D

While the law very clearly says they are required to repair any damage that happened while coverage was ineffect, I am sure cancelling them will only add to their fire.

In the case of the wrecked Vette, I cc'd the Insurance Commissioner of Florida when Progressive first wanted to play hard ball on repairing/totaling, needless to say I got full value and no more issues. Got my deductible back a couple months ago, and they actually still have not raised my rates. (as they should NOT since I wasnt faulted with accident) It is ashame that sometimes you MUST go to that level.

WoW! Well, my husband said that the policy is good until July 15 and so he will leave things as they are since we are already paid up until then. But the plot thickened. I wrote to the insurance company yesterday expressing my dissatisfaction with their service for not fixing the dent and told him that if they didn't do something about it I would get a third party involved. According to the BBB website they say you have to try to resolve the dispute privately first. Well, I got an email back this morning from the insurance agent saying, "what dent?" He claims that the body shop never notified him about a supplemental on the dent and that he had no knowledge of it whatsoever. So he said he wanted to contact the person at the body shop who told me that the insurance wouldn't cover it and I don't know what will happen now. But somebody isn't telling the truth and I guess time will tell who.

I Believe The Shop Over Looked It And Blamed The Ins Co For Disallowing.....have It Re-inspected Asap......

But it's funny because the guy at the shop was the one who saw it initially. I didn't catch it and neither did the insurance guy because it is a small dent and with the bumper being the more glaring issue I guess it got overlooked. So then the lady at the shop who wrote up the work order looked the car over and I specifically pointed it out to her and she wrote on the car itself in some kind of weird pencil, "look at dent in door" and when the car went into the "teardown" phase the lady called me and told me what they were working on so I asked her then about the dent too and she assured me that she would tell the guys who were working on it. But I think because the other two pieces were easy labor, just replacing the parts, maybe they didn't want to do the dent because it was in metal and would require hammering out and painting?? I can only speculate as I don't really know.

Bottom line is it should be fixed......... that dent will be indented in your mind as long as its there....re-inspections are very common....

GO FOR IT........;)

Yes I'm sure that it will be fixed. You are so right though. My eyes will always automatically go there every time I open that door and it will constantly be on my mind until I do get it fixed. lol I already gave the insurance company an ultimatum so I'm sure in the end they'll handle it. :D

Good for you.........:applause:

Squeaky Wheel Gets the Grease ... and as for the BBB trying to have you resolve it with vendor first, bah-humbug. You got one chance and then I become a true d***, someones gonna resolve the issue. My wife will actually tell the party "you will prefer to work with me, than talk to him" :p

And here is mine for the week: We'll have to remove the windshield but don't worry, we haven't had one break in years but we can't be responsible. We hire an outside company and they know what they are doing. And Oops, they broke my windshield. And Oops, they brought the wrong replacement. And now its next week.

Next Week For Them, And Another Week For You To Detail Out The Mess They Make.

I Feel Your Pain.........:(

I did ask them not to wash it. He said when they bring a vehicle in they spray a protective coating on it, and that hw would want to hose that off, but he agreed not to go beyond that.

A Spray Coating?? That worrys me......

Makes sense that they would "slime" it with something to protect it from overspray and other bodyshop crap. Also, you car sits out for many days waiting to be worked on. This shop is right next to a train track, and usually they are in an industrial area. Went I stopped by yesterday there were painters on the roof next door spraying on a roof coating, so I am particularly glad to hear there is some kind of protective slime on it. Is it the best shop in town--no, but about half the price, and this is a 7 seven year old vehicle with 100K. Its a second car (Lexus LX 470) that I did not want to trade because seems you always need a truck to haul something, and you don;t get much for anything with 100K, regardless of the Manufacturer. And gas prices have driven the value down even farther. But you still have to stop the rust, and that's why it is in the shop.

And then they sent the wrong windshield. And then they sent one that was missing a part because they threw it out when they got rid of the broken one. And now they had to order it from the dealership. And now they have run down my battery--New on 12/31/05--by having the light on in the car. It has taken a while, but now I am getting aggravated.

Who will they want to pay for all this? I wonder....

Geeeeeeeeeeez!! keeping cool under those conditions is really a challenge

wishing you better luck........:righton:

Fortunately for me, I have another car, which is the baby. But today they caught a whiff of the BlackCoupe when he has had enough.

Not through this body shop. THey missed spraying a place on the bumper, and had to redo it, and the window guy scratched the area I had taken it in to have the rust removed. AND WHEN I GOT IT HOME, I noticed that the other side had been raked over the left rear fender. They are going to fix for free but claim it wasn't them. This has been a real pain.

That's funny. Posting a pic of a Jack Daniels bottle got me in trouble on another forum. You Knew that? Or lucky guess?
