I am in pain. I think I threw my back out today. May have turned the wrong way of something.

When I lay or sit down, I can barely get back up without it taking my breath away. OUCH I washed 8 or so cars today, all SUV's, of course:(

I had an exterior detail, but had to cancel it. Too much pain to do a detail.

About 8-9 years ago, I fell and messed up my back. It comes back to haunt me every so often:mad:

Having had 3 back surgeries (the most recent one about a year ago), I can sympathize with you. The back is probably the worst place to have pain, especially when you're a detailer (obviously, I'm a little biased).

Get plenty of rest and walk as much as you can. All of your lower body muscles are connected to your back so walking should help any muscular pain.

Good luck!

Ok, I know you will all laugh, but Yoga is the best thing for my back! TexasTB your wife is a Dance instructor, right? I am sure she is telling you what I am about to say. But you need to stretch those back muscles everyday. In my opinion Yoga is the best way to do that. As soon as you can stand it start some yoga. It only takes a few minutes every day and you might prevent the pain you are feeling right now. For now just rest, take some advil, maybe try some heat. I know a long hot bubble bath helps my back. hee hee hee
Sorry I know what you guys are thinking, but what can I say it works for me! :D

I've actually been careful even at my age of 25 b/c couple years ago I had a nasty kneeboard wipeout behind the boat that actually compressed my spine (I sear that was worse then breaking any bone), I felt like an old man for 2 years of which it took for my back to heal. That was the worse pain I ever had and I've been to the hospital many a time for other injuries lol.

Been through that myself for the last 25 years but won't let them cut me. Easy does it!

Cyclobenzaprine 10mg is the generic equivalent to Flexeril which costs considerably more. They are mild muscle relaxers which includes your brain. The Cyclob is $4.00 at Wal-Mart but it does require a prescription. If you and your Doc are close he may call it in for you. Driving is a No No.

Alternating Hot and Cold (more cold than hot) compresses also helps. I feel for you man, I really do. The last time I was down for a week from bending over to tie my shoe.

my back has been "out" for a long time now. Weird thing.....when I'm in the shower I can lift my left leg to wash my left foot but it darn near kills me to lift up my right foot to wash it. EVERY time I bend over to to anything it takes my breath away. It sucks and I should have it looked at, but I've heard so much bad stuff from people that have had back surgery so I live with it. Hope your up and at 'em soon TexasTB.

sorry to hear that. all you need is a nice massage and a happy ending and youll be back to work in no time:D

Wow, I can't believe you said that!

Chris,
I'm sorry to hear that. That really sucks. Perhaps a Chiropractor visit and a visit to your MD for some good pain killers is in order!

Anybody compress their spine? Whoaaa, now I know what all you old foggies feel like :D, that was 2 years of hell. Kinda weird how dependent we are on our "backs", I had like flashbacks of when I compressed my spine reading this thread, my back was so tense that when the chiropractor used that sonogram thingy my back came up almost completely red on the screen.

Broken plenty of bones and will never forget the pain of hurting my back.

Damn Chris, I hope you feel better soon! Tell the missus to take good care of you!

Sorry for your pain Chris... I hope you feel better soon. You should visit a chiropractor or something to get your back checked out. I hope you get it checked soon.

I used to have back pain, now I have a chiropractor, massage therapist and an inversion table.

I took some flexeril before I made the post, and I guess I fell asleep right after the post...lol

Didn't know it would knock me out like that. Still sore this morning. I have a wash and an exterior detail this morning. Hope it doesn't get to feeling worse while working!!..

Happy Ending huh? The only happy ending I can think off is having enough money to pay the massage therapist when the session is over, now that would be my happy ending....LOL
