I am a personal trainer, hopefully I can help. Almost all of my clients have back problems. This is a move that is recommended to back spasm clients.
Ok, its hard to do this with out pics. so here it goes....
1) Lay on your back on a hard flat surface.
2) a. bring your legs up so your thighs are perpendicular to the floor (90 deg.),
b. bend your knees so your calves are parellel with the floor.
c. make a T with your arms, in relation to your torso.
3) Now, Slowly let your legs fall to the ground, while keeping your shoulders, and arms flat on the ground. Allow your torso to twist, and let your legs touch the ground. If they cant make it to the ground thats OK, find something to rest them on. (stack up some thick bath towels)
4) it is VERY important to maintain right angles with your knees, hips, and shoulders.
5) hold this, for about 30 sec. And take deep breaths only through your nose.
I hope this helps, my rule with pain is, try easy stuff (not drugs!!) for a week. If it does not work, then go to a doctor. Sometimes a Chiro. is not always the best if you dont have any skeletal problems. Try a Ortho, or someone is sport medicine if it is muscle related.
Tell me if this helps, because I have many more...
