Well my brother got a new car. Despite me being older, and better grades. Truth is his car broke and repair was too costly for my dad to swallow, so we cut our losses and got him a new ride. 2007 Ford Fusion. I like it and I just washed it and used some Max Wax. Very nice, buttery like Souveran and results almost as good. Definitely for those who don't want to spend 80 on Souveran but want the results. Here are the pics!

And a little teaser for a detail I will do soon. Whenever my dad says okay, I am going to have some FUN!!!

WOW! Seems like a lot of nice, black and new cars in the family!

Well its about time Ford started making nice looking 4 doors cars. The Ford Fusion and new 500 rocks. Buick is making some nice one too, the Lucerne. I love the 300 that Chrysler makes.

That car looks familiar lol looks good and I used the same wax on our Fusion.....

What they need to do is offer a sport model with the new DuraTech engine and a 6 speed manual, then it would be a legitimate sports sedan. In reviews it came out ahead of the Accord and others as the better "drivers" car already so that would make it even better. Never figured out why manufacturers do that, like Lexus going after BMW, "heres our new car but it only comes with automatic" lol.

Nice job, how much was the repair on the other car? "What....screw that, I'll just buy a new car" :D

If Ford hadn't of done away with their Special Vehicles Team due to financial troubles they probably would have come out with a SVT Fusion. :(

pretty nice any specs on power/wieght ?

and ive been wanting to ask....whats the difference between the svt contour and the regular contour....my dads contour (2.0L DOHC w/ ztek) is SLOW to say the least......

Last I heard the rumor was debunked by a vid that came out talking with a Ford Excet. saying SVT was alive and well......

The SVTs were only made from 1998-2000. Sparkie is right in that they have a 2.5 V6. Some guys put in 3L Duratec V6s and run them naturally aspirated or they might use forced induction. It is by no stretch of the imagination a "drag car" in being that in stock form they will run ~15s, but they sure are a blast to drive in that they handle so well.

Here are some of unique features of the SVT,

This is lifted from the 99 model year owners guide supplement:

-larger front brakes, 10.94" vented front rotors
-bosch 4 channel, 4 sensor antilock braking system
-enhanced suspension, 19 mm front stabilizer and 18 mm rear stabilzer
-unique front and rear bumper covers
-round foglamps
-unique mesh grills
-unique rear valance panel, rocker sill extentions, mesh grill and stainless muffler tips
-unique wheels
-special seats front and rear with extra bolstering
-unique texture door trim inserts
-svt gauges

Engine:
-hp=195 for 98 and 200 @6700rpm for 99/00
-torque=167 lb/ft @5625
-redline=6750 soft and 7000 hard
-10.0:1 compression ratio, increased in 2k to i don't remember what
-throttle body=60mm
-70 mm mass air sensor
-large conical airfilter
-heavy duty radiator
-extrude honed uim and heads
-32 mm lim
-special cams and pistons
-18 lbs flywheel
-19 lbs/hr fuel injectors
-block mounted water to oil oil cooler
-quasi dual exhaust
-special clutch

yeah, we're wrapped up with new SVT models.

I have very good inside info that says differently.

As far as sport sedans, I think Ford should bring over the Aussie FPV's.

The last Ford GT rolled off the line last month is September. It was also warned that after the GT500, that SVT would be absorbed into Ford. In truth, they claim they can no longer spend the money on small niche products until back in shape. My father relayed this to me after speaking with a long time friend within Ford in Dearborn MI.
