Tonight was going to be a great night. I read to my girls and waited for them to go to sleep. The wife and I put out the gifts and had our own celebration. I then went downstairs to assemble one last gift for the girls. I came back upstairs 10 minutes later with a total memory loss. No idea of what day it was or anything. Clara called me an ambulance and I was taken to the hospital. Blood work and a CT scan showed nothing. They're thinking I had a TIA. My memory came back to me in the hospital. I will be off work for a week or 2 with tests to try to pinpoint what caused this. For now, I seem to be fine again. Bloody weird and frightening too. I'm home now and glad I didn't screw up Christmas morning for my girls.

Well I hope everything is going to be ok. So you can enjoy many more christmas's

Good luck and God bless you and your family

Merry Christmas. I had this happen to me once when I was 26 years old. Freaked me out. It was at work and I had information overload going on. Working 60 hours a week trying to learn a trade etc... The next day I was back to normal. I never had it looked at. It was 21 years ago with no repeat episode. Good luck to you

That is not fun, especially on the holidays. If it was a TIA there is medication you can take that's simple and not too bad.

Richy

I hope everything turns out well. I'm glad your back home for Christmas with your family. Merry Christmas!

Glad you are OK! Being over stressed can affect your body in so many ways! Sometimes you don't even realize your stressed out! I've had it happen before and it's not fun! With that being said, We Wish you and yours a happy, healthy, Merry Christmas! And don't forget to sit back and relax! Lol

Hope everything is OK with you Richy.

Merry Christmas to all of you.

Richy,

Merry Christmas to you and your family. You will all be in my prayers! That sounds awfully scary.

I'm glad your memory returned and things are better now. Pardon me but what is TIA?

Wow that is crazy! I just read about it as i did not know what TIA was.. "everything can go back to normal or within minutes or up to 24 hours". Glad it came back within first few hours and not last 24 hours.

Best of luck, Merry Christmas!

I'm glad your memory returned and things are better now. Pardon me but what is TIA?

A transient ischemic attack (TIA) is a transient episode of neurologic dysfunction caused by ischemia (loss of blood flow) – either focal brain, spinal cord or retinal – without acute infarction (tissue death). TIAs have the same underlying cause as strokes: a disruption of cerebral blood flow (CBF), and are frequently referred to as mini-strokes. TIAs and strokes cause the same symptoms, such as contralateral paralysis (opposite side of body from affected brain hemisphere) or sudden weakness or numbness. A TIA may cause sudden dimming or loss of vision (amaurosis fugax), aphasia, slurred speech (dysarthria) and mental confusion. But unlike a stroke, the symptoms of a TIA can resolve within a few minutes or 24 hours. Brain injury may still occur in a TIA lasting only a few minutes. Having a TIA is a risk factor for eventually having a stroke or a silent stroke

Thats crazy Richy! Glad to see it came back to you and your doing better.

Take care and have a Merry Christmas

^^^ It sounds super scary but a lot of time it's easily treated with medication. Mostly today Plavix is the drug of choice. However, sometimes it's as simple as taking an aspirin a day.

Sounds like you may know a thing or two about medications...i have a business proposal for you..... :coolgleam: JK lol

Fortunately Richy you are better now, but I cannot imagine what that would be like. My wife has MS, so I know how scary neurological related issues can be. Hopefully this will never happen again and the tests will not come up with anything of concern.

Merry Christmas!

Man I sure hope your OK.
It's a bad feeling when someone has to be rushed to a hospital, so many thoughts goes through your mind.
Keep us updated on how your doing.

Two months ago after surgery I was rushed myself to a hospital due to bad chest pains.
I was in ICU for two days and was scared until all the test came back clear.
Know how you feel, at least you checked out fine but follow through with this with your doctor.

Glad you are OK. My Mom used to get these also. They will give you medicine for that. Enjoy the rest of the day with your girls and wife. When something like this happens to you it makes you realize how fragile we really are. God Bless you and your family and Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas Richy, so glad things are back to normal for you.
