On the car that is.... he he!

anyway, now that I have everyone's attention.. I did a detail and headlight restoration on a 2008 Civic.

The headlights turned out great but the customer told me they had a bra on the front for 2 weeks that they bought from Honda. After taking it of to wash the car, the paint has blotchy discolorations where it was covered. I tried Menzerna super finish but no change. So before I try anything else I wanted yo run it by everyone here to see what you all thought would help.. I have not seen this before...

the finish has the same gloss but it looks like it has been stained

That is generally a result of water being trapped against the painted surface by the carbra.

Sometimes just being parked in the sun will eliminate it. I have never treated it with anything that has ever done any good. And it may be permanent. Just let it bake in the sun for a month or two and hopefully it will vanish on it's own.

That's after just 2 weeks? Sheesh! Have him sign some sort of waiver that says the hood more than likely needs repainted, but you'll try to fix the defects. Of course, wash, clay, and polish using the least aggressive method first before going heavy on the compound. Good luck!

I had a bra on my car when I was 16 (30 years ago). The instructions at that time said to never let it sit on the car wet as it would cause clouding of the paint. Bras should always be removed when wet (the ones on cars anyway).

Of course, I wouldnt put one on my car at all anymore.

Bra's have their place, like on the bedroom floor and certainly not on a car, just my opinion anyways!

Yeah, I figured it was a lost cause. It really is noticeable though. Strange thing cause I have seen other cars that had them and it didn't leave any problems. Oh well.. I hope it at least fades over time.

I thought bras was a thing of the pass. I know the meaning behind them is to provide protection and a degree of styling. But if you keep your car clean on a regular basis then the need is unnecessary. As far as styling...I will pass.

I'm not a fan either but I wasn't going to beat him down for using it. I told him he's better off with a clear one.. hindsight being what it is, he agreed

PPF is a viable option...always!!

Like the customer in your thread's title (Good One, BTW)...I don't use a bra either...YET!

But, perhaps, when I'm told that I probably need to...This looks like a viable option:
