My first attempt at claying...what did I do wrong?

This may be a stupid question, but did you get stuck behind someone that may have sprayed their windshield wiper spray excessively? Not sure if those spots are literally all over.... but that reminds me of one time that I was driving and got "misted". It also looks like there is a lot of tire shine on there, is it possible that it flung up onto the sides, or if you were spraying it on one of your other vehicles, having the wind carry it onto your car. SOrry if these seem crazy to you.
