It ended up being about a week long process because my work schedule/weather was messing with me, but I finally got it done and it feels SOOOO nice. Being the first time I've touched a buffer to paint, of course the subject was my car haha. But all went well and I have a renewed love for my car, I cant get enough of it
.
It was the first time I've ever used a DA polisher on paint before so I did have to get the hang of controlling it, as was the same figuring out exactly how to use the Megs twins 105 & 205. Waxing was the fun part though
, I can firmly say I'll never wax a car by hand again. Yea, the whole thing probably could've been done by one of you guys in a fraction of the time it took me LOL.
Alright, so here's what I used:
Meg's Smooth Surface Clay w/ Meg's QD
GG DA w/ 5'' backing plate
5 1/2'' LC Flat pads -- Orange/White/Blue
M105/205
Collinite #845
Here's what I started with:
^^ Swirly, old, oxidized paint... eww
Claying was a chore, this was part of the passenger door!
A couple side-by-sides on the hood:
And here's what I turned up with! Oh boy
Thanks for looking!
