My First DA Experience

After a lot of reading around here I decided what I wanted to do to the car. Unfortunately there just wasn't enough hours in the day...LOL Oh and my car sat for two days outside before I did anything to it.
Anywho my process was this:
Wash w/Dawn (don't think I'll be doing this any longer)
Clay w/Z18
Wash w/PB's Suds
SSR2 w/orange DAS pad
EX
Natty's Red
Wheels were cleaned using P21S gel
Tires were dressed w/Z16

I didn't have any idea just how long this would take. I was truly exhausted after working on the car and I still didn't get everything done that I wanted to. This was the only picture I managed to get taken that night. I also found out just how important lighting is...LOL

I know there's more that needs to be done, but it may be a moot point because I found some issues that the dealer will have to deal with.

 
Nice job. It does take a long time. The pro's on this site amaze me at how fast they can work.
 
Great job on the GTO! I don't think you need dawn wash anymore, especially since u clay after. I haven't finished my car yet...so sad :p I completed the roof and did 1 fender though :)
 
Nice job. As far as being exhausted, it gets easier the more cars you do. You'll begin to find a routine that works for you and then you get in a groove and it's much easier and efficient.

I'm wondering, you have a lot of white spots on the car, is that the flakes in the car reflecting the light? Because a more aggressive clay may be able to get that out, or are those stone chips?

Either case, I love the pics, they were taken during the day, but I could see the swirling, and it's the cars that have low to medium swirls that I find the hardest because the OWNER (yourself) may not notice a stark difference like you would an mildly oxidized medium-heavy swirled car.

Great job, it's okay, the more you do this, the easier it gets for you.
 
very nice job, swirl free and shiny. You got some good reflections there, and some nice metal flake shots too.

I know what you mean about being exhausted, I feel like I take probably three times as long as the pros on this site and im dead tired when im done.

in the end its all worth it though, right?;)

You've gotta love Phantom Black Metallic (metal flake) and rock chips. I swear if you look at this paint too hard it will chip...LOL
