So some of you know I had a major surgery a couple of months back and I was forced to stop detailing.
Yesterday I received a call from a guy who is giving his 04' Ford F-150 extended cab to his son, he wants a full correction so this will be my first test testing out my "New" back. :dblthumb2:

I'm very excited, sort of like waiting on Christmas when I was a kid. Lol
He wants me to do his other truck and his wife's car when I'm done with this truck.
Hope the back holds up because there won't be no turning back once I start:)

I pick it up tomorrow afternoon:dblthumb2:

you have foam gun/ cannon or montana boars hair, helps so much on big cars

Just take it slow and wish I lived by you I would come help you :)

I know you would:dblthumb2:
I'll take many breaks, the truck will be at my home so I get to work at my own pace, work a bit, rest a bit:)

We all know how hard the work is but that doesn't bother us none being it's something we all love doing.
Can't wait to begin.

HateSwirls-

Glad the back is getting better. However, do take it easy. My father had two discs fused about 20 years ago... it still bothers him today because he had to resume work as soon as he could walk again.

At least you are going to be something you are enjoying... that surely helps. And I'm glad you are...."back at it."

Thanks.
I promise I'll take it slow:dblthumb2:

Well I picked up the truck today and have to say it's in bad shape, worst than I first thought.
The correcting will be the same as I thought but it's so freaking dirty that I'm looking at a 3-4 hours just to wash it before I even think of claying.

I cleaned a small spot on the hood then clayed it to do a small test area using 105 and a MF towel just to see if I could get some of the bad oxidation out and low and behold there's beautiful paint under it. :dblthumb2:

That figures on your 1st one back...

I would just use something strong to wash it quicker trying to save some kind of time and energy. :xyxthumbs:

Then maybe M105 and a MF cutting pad. :D :props:

But then that's likely what you already had planned. :buffing:

I was thinking of adding some APC to the Mr. Pink?
What I'm thinking of doing first is go to a car wash to get most of the mud under the fenders and the lower part of the truck then start my wash when I return.

Took pics and will post later , looks like a farm truck:(
The price did go up, he had no problem with that once he totally understood all what must be done to it.
Cool dude.

Yeah that would do it, car wash and run it through maybe twice. :D

Then the APC to the Pink and maybe some Dawn added to the mix if it's still bad. Something to melt that junk off with the least amount of effort. LOL

I know you do..
But I also want that you are well, getting your life back, and going back to work.

I hope your rehabilitation process from surgery was totally successful;
and is now, and forever to remain: Your loyal aide-de-camp.

Good Luck!...and facilitation of detailing, on the F-150 Extended Cab:
That's a lot of real estate to tend to, 'first day back'.

:)

Thanks Bob:dblthumb2:

I'm still in rehab, doing this truck will sort of be like rehab x 100. Lol

I hope I can give you guys some good afters:)

Best wishes!
Glad to see that you're progressing well :props:
Gonna be a rain-out here this wknd :(

Rain here too Friday and Saturday but clear on Sunday.
All I need is a break in the rains to wash it, then I'll he under cover.
Sunday clear and sunny, that's when I'll seal, wax, dressings ,etc.

Best wishes!

This is what I'm dealing with.

Still on first step, 105 on a yellow pad.
