I am still awaiting a part of my shipment which will get here Monday, but I could not wait this long. This is what I got.

I ordered some 105 and some lake country pads but that is what will be here Monday. I had an old car with some horrible paint so I decided to give it a shot. Here is what I started with.

I the washed the portion I plan to buff and clay bared the surface to my satisfaction.

There are some clearcoat cracking issues so I decided to sand it smooth.

Next I used the wool pad and some turtle wax rubbing compound to remove the 1500 sanding marks. Boy what a difference.

I then switched pads and used the Meguairs 205 polish with the polishing pad.

Lastly a coat of mothers wax was put on.

I also did a side fender in the same fashion. The reason for sanding the fender is due to the orange peel.

Let me know what you think and if you see anything that I did totally wrong.

Robert,

I think that's a great car to start learning and the results do look impressive! It's nice to see some wet sanding and the finish work to go along with this....Don't wool pads do a great job!!

Keep up the nice work! :props:

Thank you for the compliment. So far the wool pads do seem to do a great job. This is my first time even using a buffer so I do not know how they will compare to th assortment of LC pads I have on the way. The LC pads will be smaller so that i do not get so much splatter on the curved pannels and it should be easier to handle. Thanks for taking a look and I will see you around.
