My first headlight restoration

Looks good. Nice job. What did you use to seal the headlights. Also what we're your steps?

Thank you!
Wetsanding started with 600grit followed by 1500 then 2500 (highest I could find).

Then yellow LC pad with a compound.
Orange LC pad with a polish.
Then waxed by hand.

Didn't have any actual sealant so I just did all I could with what I had.

Looks good--there in HI you should think about Opti-Lens or some spar urethane or it's going to fade back pretty quick.

Nice job! A polymer sealant is a good choice to finish the job. I did my daughters car last year and sealed with BF Crystal Seal. They have not yellowed or hazed and I have not reapplied the sealant to date. I have Wolfgang Headlight Sealant too, but haven't tried it out yet.

Very nice work on your first headlight restoration it looks better that OEM

Looks good! Did you have many chips in the lenses? If so, did you get them all out with sanding?

Looks great bud!

I've never restored a headlight before. I see quite a bit of products/kits for it though. Might take a dive in it and learn about it and maybe even offer it as a service for my detailing down the road.

Thank You. I have heard nothing but good things about Opti-Lens. I'm definitely going to look into it.

Thanks! and thanks for the suggestion. Looks like I have options to look into now :props:

Thank you and I don't believe I had any. But the finish was nice and smooth, so if I did, they're gone now lol.

Thank You! Ya know the funniest thing about this was tracking down the sandpaper. I went to quite a few places trying to track this stuff down . Honestly its worth learning and has got to be one of the most profitable services you can offer as far as time it takes and cost of materials.

Sweet! How are the headlights holding up today, some months after your work? I'm concerned about wax instead of sealant. I imagine the crystal clarity doesn't last long without Opti?
