This Saturday, I've got my first motorcycle detail to do. It will be my brother in laws, so there is no expectation for it to be "perfect", but the best I can do.

I dont have have enough time to order any S100 products, so I was wondering what some products I may already have, or that I can buy from the store to use.

For the wheel spokes and the tires, I was going to use D143 and M37 Tire and Rubber Rejuvenator, but I don't know what to use to clean and polish all the aluminum and chrome.

And then what to use on the seat and bags.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Ray, need to know what kind of bike. Leather bags or hard plastic bags? Painted mag spokes or chrome rim and steel or aluminum spokes.

This is my first post on autogeek, and I hope it can be a helpful one. I will do a more complete review tomorrow, but I just saw this post and want to make sure to keep you and your brother in law/ any fellow detailer and rider safe!

DO NOT put ANY product on a motorcycle tire, at most clean it, but even then, I would urge you to use just water and give it a good rinse. The way a bike handles is by using the sides of the tires in a counter steer motion to 'pull' or 'push' you in a direction. Any product on the tire can cause a low or high side, where the front or rear tire lose traction, and cause a wreck.
I love detailing, and may just be getting started, but as a sportbike rider, and avid two wheel enthusiast and a paramedic l, I want to make sure we are promoting personal and others safety first with our passion in this work!

I will tell you a few tricks I use when detailing my bike. A 2013 Triumph Daytona 675R tomorrow, but want to make sure you saw this early!!

Best,

mark

Hey Mark, it may be your first post,
but it is a VERY important and helpful one. I guess I can't hear that message enough times when detailing Bikes.

Thank you for posting that man!

The bike is a 100th Anniversary Harley Davidson Sportster. Here's it's photo:

It's not his actual photo of his bike. But that's exactly what his looks like.

Ahhahaha! I Totally deserved that E2K! I'm not going to promise one on this detail, that way it might trick me into actually taking them this time. I've been posting in here too long to not have posted any pics yet.

Bingo!

I just found a motorcycle shop just a mile from my house that sells the S100 products! So I can give a review on those. I have never used any S100 stuff, so this will be a new adventure.

S100 is great. Just do not let it dwell too long to the point of drying. It takes a lot of water to thoroughly rinse off. Also be careful of the lower fork legs as they are not very resilient to chemicals and are usually pitted pretty bad from the get go. Use straight up silicone on the wrinkle black finish after the bike is clean and dry. It'll make the black pop and also hydrates it too.

Hey, thanks Waxmaster1! That is Very helpful! I will be sure to show pics.

Have a great weekend man!

The before a coming. I'm trying to get the photos from my iPhone SE camera to my post and I'm trying to figure out how to do it. I'm pretty new to the iPhone game. Any tips are greatly appreciated!

It's easy, just download the AG app, then from there get on this thread and push the 3 dot icon at the top right of the screen, which opens up a menu, click on "reply" and you'll see the keyboard. Right on top of the keyboard you'll see 3 icons, a camera [to take a pic and post, an icon of a picture [for you to choose a photo from your camera roll] and the 3rd icon I don't even know what it does but that's not important. Posting a picture is that simple. Even I can do it, and I suck at computers.

I'm a dang Putz Man!!! I've been trying it. I go into my AG app, and the first thing that pops up in the top right corner is 3 icons one has 3 lines and says menu. That's the middle icon. Then to the right of that is a cart icon for the shopping cart. Then one is on the left. I forget that one, but it was related to any of this. If I tap on the menu icon, it only brings me to all the shopping icons, but no forum options.

I can go to full website view, but I haven't found anything relaxant that way either. Aaaarrrrrggghhh!

Mumma Mia! Redownloaded the AGO app. And now it finally shows exactly what you are talking about with the 3 dots in the top right corner E2K. I did everything as you exactly said, then it gives me 3 choices of image quality after that I pick the picture I want to upload, then it says "Upload Failed"! I think I'm giving up on this tonight.

If it keeps saying upload fail... Just download the Tapatalk app. Once you're on there the menus for AGO are very similar, but uploading pics works on there.
