so on sunday a friend of mine heard that I've been really getting into this detailing thing so he asked if I would like to detail his 07 M5....yes a newbie on an M5......

the Process is as follows:

-sprayed car down with water,
-then used a citrus degreaser on the front and lower panels (diluted 30:1.5)
-degreaser on the wheels as well
-washed car with Pinnacle Bodywork shampoo
-scrubbed wheels with brush and soap
-rinsed
-dried with Guzzler (thing is amazing)
-clayed the car (used Meguire's Quick Detail)
-then on a few scuffs and small scratches used XMT 3 and 1 (with PC), all gone!!!
-topped with XMT glaze and gray pad
-sovereign OH YEAH!!!!!
-crystal misted some slight streaks,
-windows done with stoner's aerosol

also used the 2 bucket method, and cobra MF towels,

here are the results after about 6 hours

Amazing job! Just love 5-series aggressive/mad look from its headlights.

Buy the way, what was the dillution ratio on degreaser?

thejoyofdriving-I got it from a company called 3d detailing supplies. they have a shop here in Ventura where I live.

Supercharged- the ratio was 30:1.5 on the degreaser

Nice BMW...I like the way it looks.

Nice work, I like the Acura RSX...I used to own one of those...fun vehicles to drive.

Thanks for sharing.

thanks again Nica... the RSX-S is my mom and dad's car... its next on the list, as well as the Yukon... AKA my new work vehicle. haha

NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE M5 FTW!!!!!!
GREAT First Detail!

The new Ms are so subtle, you cant tell they are M's sometimes, but then again, M5s have always been like that.

thanks FMINUS!!!!! yeah. this thing is a BLAST!!!! does your M3 have launch control? cause this thing does.... (I've experienced it, he's a really good family friend so I'm with him quite a bit) launch control ftw.

how many people can say their first detail was an 07 M5???? :D

I have a 6sp manual, I HATE SMG! (so no launch control) Im glad BMW is finally ditching the SMG.
I had a 07 M5 on order but I had to back out because the E60 M5 was really made to suit the SMG3, and the 6spd was a forced feature due to US demand.

It just didnt feel right w the 6spd and I couldnt settle for the SMG..... so hence still the old E46.

nice! that's a hell of a way to start haha

btw e39 m5 owns that ish

The OG "Ultimate Driving Machine":righton:
I felt the same way until I unleashed the E60 up to 180MPH, it had plenty more to go, I just got really scared.
The E39 I could only push up to 150MPH and I think that was all it had, it wouldnt push past that in 5th.

thanks for all the compliments guys!!!!!

I really enjoy this stuff...its kinda funny that after you wash and dry the car and start really looking close at the details (no pun intnded) how many imperfections you start to see.

Very nice work! One does not need to be afraid of detailing anything with an arsenal of products like that.

And you can get Citrus Degreaser at Home Depot and Loewes, it's sold by Zep.

Nice car to start with, and with that result, you will get more work i guess.
