Hello guys

This is my first attempt at detailing a car ever!

It is a 1992 vw jetta with a vr6 engine turbo (around 400hp). The paint was faded due to its age.

I really enjoyed the process and im really happy with the result.

Products used were:

-onr wash
-griots clay bar with onr as a lub
-PC with megs 205 with orange lc pad
-Pinnacle Signature Series II wax
-a few mf's
-Mothers Back-To-Black Bumper & Trim Care
- ISO wipredown

Tires and wheels

-ez brush
-p21s wheel cleaner gel
-griots clay bar
-wheel wax tire conditioner

before the pics i just want to say that i did not take that many pics. This car used to be winter driven in canadian winters with up to -30c !! oh and yeah its a 92 so the paint will never look as good as the majority of the cars posted here :props:

thank you ! :xyxthumbs:

good job...it looks way better! i'm still working up to doing the intire car...done a couple practice spots on the hood...seeing results like this on your first go, gives me much more confidence and motivation to move forward

hey no problem!

it did take a lot of hours but it was mostly because i was experimenting, reading a lot on the forum too because there was a lot of thing that came up during my attempt that i did not not how to solve.

I started my testing with the trunk!

thank you again!

Yeah my brother is really happy!

We both worked on it but i was the "teacher"

Nice VW, I'd ditch the Mother's Back-to-Black, had it on my car and when it rained it would run off and I'd have #### all over my car.

I live in Montreal. Yeah it is a single stage paint and thank you for the kind words :)

oh really ? I usually use another product. I bought the mothers about a year ago and it was my first time using it, i find that it gives an oily result but it looks really good.

thank you for the input!

Yeah it did look pretty good at first, but after a while it just faded back to how it was and was horrible when it rained or even when I wash my car because it just runs off and leaves a streak on my paint.
Used it only once and probably never again.

I have Poorboy's Trim Restorer (trying it in a couple days).
I've heard only good things about it!

NICE TURN AROUND! All your research and effort comes to fruition, how satisfying is that! Nice wheels. :xyxthumbs:
