I just did my first rinse-less wash tonight and I have to say, it was a lot easier than I expected it to be!
I used ONR, 1 oz. in 2 gallons of water, as suggested on the bottle. My rinse water had a grit guard in it. I did my 2010 Mustang which wasn't super dirty, but hadn't been washed in about two or three weeks. Here are my observations and some questions.
The ONR works. It's as simple as that. A lot of you already know that, a lot of you already suspected that, and some of you (new people I'd guess) don't believe it. How do I know it works? The rinse water was horribly dirty. When I would wipe the ONR off, the towel came away clean. There wasn't any dirt on the car. I think I'm preaching to the choir here though. One thing I'll do next time is position the car in the center of the garage. One side wasn't in very good light and I'm sure I either missed some spots or didn't dry as well as I should have.
Now, some questions. The biggest one I have is about the MF waffle weave towels. I have three. Two Megss waffle weave towels and another smaller one from Pakshak. I used them all. Each of these towels advertised that they'd be the only one you'd ever need to dry a car, but that just hasn't been my experience. Am I doing something wrong? Should a single MF waffle weave towel be able to dry my Mustang when I ONR it?
I have a chenille MF wash mitt that I bought here from Autogeek. It's fantastic, but as I washed the car it slowly got dirtier and dirtier, even with me rubbing against the grit guard. Is this normal? Should I use multiple mitts if my car hasn't been washed for a few weeks?
Well, that's it. I really hope I can get some answers on these two questions. I like the ONR rinse-less wash and I don't really see myself using anything else unless I'm doing a full correction on the car and I want to strip the wax off first. Thanks for reading!
