this is a 2007 chevy express cube van. over the next few weeks ill be detailing it and trying to take it from its tattered, smelly, greasy shape and transform it into a clean, shiny, detailed workhorse.

this truck has been driven 10 hours a day 5 days a week since we bought it new in 2007.
each of those days it was driven by a guy who smoked in it. He would smoke with the windows down, the windows up and used the ash tray regardless of window position.

We bought him a new van for this year, but no one else can stand the horrible stench that was coming from the interior of this van.

I have spent 10 hours to get it to this point.

Products Used:
Woolite (10:1)
Meguiars APC+ (4:1)
Simple Green (1:1) for the floor
Microtex Microfibers
VapAmore mr100
Bissell Little Green Proheat
MR Clean Magic Eraser
Various boars hair brushes

anyways, on to the pictures

What do you think?

I like the before and after pics the interior look like new no complaints with your product choices either keep up the good work

Thank you!

I have many photos of cars ive done. However, I have failed on many occasions to take the "before" pictures.

This spring and summer I will be detailing cars on weekends from my garage and because of that I wanted plenty of photos to show what i am capable of.

This was a test of my new FLEX 3401

this is my brother-in-laws plow/salt truck

the paint was completely oxidized. used MEGS ultimate compound on an orange pad, and finished with Blackfire Wet Diamond

Great work so far! It's definitely not easy work erasing years of funk build up from a messy owner.

I gotta ask,

Why did you buy him a new van when he trashed the old one, just to clean up this one to give to someone else? Did you need a challenge?

very nice!

Thank you!

Not at all, everytime that Ive driven his van, I've gotten in there with sometype of air freshener to try and mask the scent as much as possible.

Very nice results on the fabric/cloth seats.

Thank you, it took much of my patience to actually get the stains out.
This was the water after the 3rd extraction, and the bucket is what the magic eraser was able to find after i had already cleaned the surfaces 2 times before with MEGS APC+

Nice work!:dblthumb2:

Thanks!

This van has close to 300000 miles on it and the front end needs to be rebuilt. Also, we had to use this van before we could get any lettering on it, so we took this opportunity to get our rolling bill board back out there.

Great work, congrats on your first show and shine:)

Thank You!

Great job!

Nice job

As a side note (imho) get rid of simple green for car care. (it can pit aluminum)

Simple Green is not in my every car lineup, however this floor was pure oil and grease, so i really had no choice for quick correction.

Ill be using a heavy duty degreaser on the rear of this van as well. After using many products over the years to remove grease Ive found that average automotive products dont even come close.

This isnt even close to being a show car, but that doesnt mean I shouldnt try to clean it up.

Thanks for the suggestion.

It looks so much better now than before you started work on the van. I drove a company car for 35 years and considered it another tool to take care of and a symbol of what my company represented so I always took care of it.

I view my company vehicles the same way. Especially those with logos.

The owner is very lacks on upkeep and cleanliness however.
It was a chore to convince him to allow me to detail this van for extra money, as he didnt see the point

We finally had some weather that was above freezing, so I decided to finally get the road grime off this monster

I used Meguiars Gold Class For the foaming and washing

Before

Foamed

After

Nice! Glad to see Meg's Gold Class foams nicely!

It did for the first 1/2 of the bottle, but then the heavy foaming stopped. Idk why, probably didnt mix it well enough in the bottle
