UPDATE!: See page 2 for some sun shots!

This is going to be my first show N shine, well I have to post one up someday :). This is my mom's 4 Runner, and it's the only car we have that has dark paint. It's not bad considering my dad doesn't know how to wash a car correctly, and we got it brand new, but the only bad thing is there's what seems to be rust on the roof from our roof rack. Also, the hood is brand new from an accident and it could possibly be resprayed.

Here it is from start to finish:

Wheels: DP Wheel Gel Cleaner, Wheel Shmitt, old brush to get into lug nut holes (I want to get a boars hair brush to be nicer to the wheels), 5 gal bucket with grit guard, Purple Passion soap from autozone (my dad bought this outta nowhere, so I had to use it somehow). Brown stuff on the wheels started to climb down the wheel after I sprayed on the gel cleaner, but there seemed to be a little bit of brown after cleaning the wheels. I dressed them with Meguiars Gold Class Endurance Tire Protectant Gel.

Wash: Citrus Wash, 2 buckets with grit guards in each, wash Shmitt.

Dry: Electric leaf blower, Ultimate Guzzler. This is the first time I tried the leaf blower. It's been sitting in the garage, and it looks unused. Man, sped things up and got water out of those crevices, side view mirrors, roof rack, grill, everywhere where water comes out! It's loud and I'm sure people looked at me weird but hey, it works :D. The leaf blower's my new best friend. Leaf blower plus guzzler = AWESOME :awesome:

Clay: blue clay and car wash solution left over in the wash bucket. Not much contaminents. I just wanted to strip the wax and have a nice smooth finish. It's not perfectly smooth and the paint probably needs a polishing, but I don't have a PC yet :(.

Wax: Pete's 53. Sorry it's not from AG, but I've never tried this out yet and it's been sitting around. I've been using NTS7 Liquid Carnauba wax, which beaded nicely.

While I was waxing, a neighbor walking his dog walked by and said "Looks nice!" Woot :D . The dog reminded me of the thread on AG about pit bulls.

My mom and dad came in the garage and my dad was laughing and said "Are you gonna post those online?" I said yes! My mom said that she doesn't wanna drive the 4 Runner anymore cause it's so nice and detailed :p

Sorry, no before pics. Onto the pics!

I was looking at the hood from this angle and the paint didn't really look smooth. Maybe a resprayed hood?

You can see some wheel imperfections.

4Runner's looking good!! Nice reflection shots!
Only one suggestion................. I wouldn't admit to freaking myself out, at my own reflection! :D J/K!!!

klumzypinoy, I been waiting on you to post in show N shine. You done a awesome job. Enjoyed the write also. How do you like Pete's 53, I come so very close to getting it?

Well done, I agree with sparkie. I too have been waiting for a detail from you buddy. I like how it looks nice and wet. Oh I like the tires, they look good.

Thanks for sharing lol and the reflection...I know what you mean hahahaha.

You did a great job on her car. Love that dark green.

About time man.......j/k

Great work, and without the PC, impressed, and tell your mom that if someone looks her way, they dont look at her, but the car, its just like those new white shoes...

That is some great work! Let's see some outside shots!!!

Welp, it's easy on easy off, and I like the looks! I do want to see the vehicle outside. I'll take some shots when my mom comes home. The stuff smells like pina colada. I applied it with the pad primed with the product itself. Looking in the tub, it looks like I barely even used it. I think it's a great wax, but I haven't tried other beauty waxes yet.

Wow, I didn't know you guys were waiting for a detail from me :D. Thanks for the compliments. I have a feeling that the tire dressing is uneven, I should take a look at it when my mom comes home. And the reflection shot, I had to look at it over a few times just to unscare myself lol.

Very nice job, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Meghan! Couldn't have done the job without AutoGeek :D. If it wasn't for AG, the 4 Runner wouldn't be looking as great.

My mom loves the results. I too love the color. When we first got it, they were wanting Sand Dune or something like that, but I'm glad we got the dark green one :).

Yes it's about time!! haha. Wow I wouldn't think I'd impress that much, thanks! I really do hope someone stares at her car. I see a bunch of 99' 4 Runners that look blah. I feel proud taking care of it and trying to make it look good.

Will take some outside shots when my mom comes back. It's nice and sunny outside :) I'm just scared that the swirls will show up in the pictures hahah.

Very nice work :) Did you put the tire protectant on the tread?
If so I :applause: you for paying attention to detail. I used to do that in shows, it is the little things like that to bring the whole package together.

Chai Yo

Sparkie, you will LOVE Pete's '53. For me, it's my favorite wax at the moment. I washed the truck this weekend and the beading is just out of this world. Left the surface super-slick as well, even after more than a week of initial application.

GET IT NOW!!!

sweet! don't you love dark green metallic? turns out so good looki'! it rocks!

Florida Native: Thanks for the compliment! :)

Ong~Bak: Actually, I didn't dress the treads. The tires are just wet on the treads. I would, but then it's not going to a show :p

P1et: We Love Pete's! :D

Itoman: I love the metallic dark green color! I appreciate your compliment :D

Here are some sun shots like I promised! Will take more after I give it another wash, and pics of the beading action on the hood :awesome:
