My first time using the 7424 polisher

I am going to clean up the swirl marks on my mustang.
Did a lot of research, and bought a 7424 porter cable kit.
Using the meguairs 104 then 204 then #21 sealant.
My car is garage stored and never winter driven. See's about 3000 km's per year. I am very anal about my washing. 2 bucket method, leaf blower drier and so on.
The previous owner put all the swirl marks in the car.
ok, my question.
I have washed 3 times now with dawn to strip off old wax, but the car still beads like a son of a #####. Is it ok to start the buffing procedure or do I need to strip all old was off.
Also, can i put Meguiars gold wax (canarbua) over the sealant.
And does anyone use the buffer to remove wax, or is by hand better. I am going to use the buffer to put the wax on

Polishing will remove any remaining wax

You did not mention what pads you purchased?

Doing a Test Spot is required

If the vehicle has only light scratches, I suggest your 1st test spot should be M105 on a White Pad, Speed 5, moderate downward pressure, slow arm speed, 6 passes

Read Mike Phillips tutorial on polishing with the 7424. You will find it very helpful

Wax over a sealant is advocates by many Forum Members. It is referred to as "topping" or "layering".

Purchased a set of 5.5 and 4 inch pads.
I got orange , white, black , and I think red and blue pads. All are ccd pads.
The scratching is light swirls. When in direct sunlight the swirling really shows up. I was going to start with the orange and 105 then move to white with the 205. But might try the white with 105 and see how that goes.

Typo on my prev post

I suggest M205 on a White CCS pad for 1st Test Spot

If that combo does not get out enough of the scratches...try M105 on a fresh White Pad

If you still need more cutting power, go to the Orange CCS w Orange Pad

Make sure you tale good before & after pictures, including close-UPS, so we can see what you started with and admire your results
