This was on my 3 month old 2007 Lexus IS350 which fortunately showed no
scratches or swirls so I skipped the prelim. stages of polishing.
Most of my supplies arrived last week so I began the process listed below.
I purchased a PC a month ago but not used it till now and then added some Edge pads. The AG store has been great:):)
Thanks to all the great info given here I came up with the following steps:
1) wash (Mothers car shampoo already on hand)
2) clay (Pinnacle clay and lube)
3) prep (Klasse AIO)
4) sealant (WDGP)
5) final shine (Pinnacle Souveran paste wax)

I order the Pinnacle paste wax and spray this morning with a fast ship so
hopefully I will have that in time for step 5 this holiday weekend.

Given that this was my first attempt at a more serious detail with a PC-7424
and high quality products I was extemely grateful for your expertise
shared in this forum. I read, watched video clips, read, watched more clips,
and did I mention that I read more.
This was my first experience at claying a car but it went just as discribed
and I was amazed at the crap that came off considering that it was new
but since it did come here via the rail I should not be surprised.
I then snapped a white Edge 2000 pad on my PC and went to work with
the Klasse AIO. I then snapped on a second white pad on my PC went to
work with the Wolfgang sealant. Buffed both out by hand to glorious shine.
I ran out time before I could do more but I am SO VERY PLEASED with the
results so far. The PC is a must for me now.
Thank you for your help:cheers: :grouphug:

I think I will do one more coat of the WDGP before I put on the Souveran.
What do you think??

Here is a poor pic I snapped at work today so I can show my progress.

Thank you!
How do I get the photo to post without the thumbnail?
I scaled it down to 640x480.

I use photobucket personally.

www.photobucket.com

it gives you the links to your images beside them so you just copy and paste the locations.

:applause: She looks awesome Wayne!! I can't wait to see the pics after the Souveran. Yeah the clay is amazing. When my car was new I clayed it and I had to throw the bar away afterwards it was so nasty! I agree with you about the second coat of WG before the final Souveran topper. Souveran is my absolute favorite wax! I can't wait to see your car in it! Great job!!

I use photobucket too. After uploading it click on the IMG link underneath the photo and paste the link in the thread and it will post the image full size. Joe P. taught me this trick! Thanks again Joe P. I think you can do the same thing with the gallery at Autogeek. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, ya'll know I'm no genious when it comes to computers and photos. :p

Your car looks great!
Wait 12 hours to let the WG cure before applying the souveran. One of my favorite combos for black.

You rock! I did not make so much progress. CONGRATS!!!:applause: One hot Lexus!! I love the color. All reds are so hot.
Hey, what exactly did you use the Klasse AIO for? I ordered some, but I am not sure what to use it on, really. Input?
Lauren:)

Your car looks sweet! Be sure to post more pics with the Souveran on it. I can't wait.

I totally agree with you about the level of information on this forum. Thanks to all the Geeks on here and their wealth of knowledge and tips, I too turned out a really nice looking car this past weekend. I kept my Mom's car for the weekend and used XMT2 and XMT1 then put DP sealant, waited about 18 hours and then followed it up with NB. I also detailed her whole interior for her. She couldn't believe how good her car looks. Thanks again to everyone here. You helped me make a 76 year old woman very happy.

Klasse AIo is a paint cleaner and while cleaning, lays down an acrylic base. This adds deph and shine to a sealnt which in turn can be toped with a nuba. Its useful for getting that extra reflection on cars :)

Thank you so much for all the compliments, my car has become a chating place after
lunch the last couple of days at work. If I can just kindly teach
them not to rub there dirty hands on the finish.
This can definitley become a "labor of love":D
I have read where some refer to the detailing process as relaxing. I guess I will need
to get myself in better shape before I can think of it that way.
The PC certainly helps with the applications but I still prefer removal by hand.
OR can I get a better finish by buffing with the PC?

This weekend I will do another coat of the WG sealant then the Souveran
paste wax the next day. My car has taken on this incredible glow that produces
different shades of red like light projecting thru a glass of wine.

What a great group of people here:cheers: :grouphug:
I have learned so much in a short time.
I would have never had the guts to run a PC on my new car without this place.
I will post a better set of pics when I am done.

Cheers,
Wayne

Yes, that is one thing that I can't stand. Shiny cars are magnets to people wanting to touch it and rub it. Dont you wish you could get a force field around your car so no one can get near it :p

So let me get this traight, you apply with the aid of the PC? You remove the by hand? I thought that it was the other way around, you oculd apply by hand and remove with the PC for better results? Well I know it could be done either way but I thought that for best results that you remove using the PC?

Well you got great results, the color looks great it's :Picture: worthy. Let me ask you something, how long did it take you to do the clay part? I too just purchased a new Lexus SUV and I'm still hesitant about purchasing a PC and bringing it close to my new car...but after seeing your results and others I think I know what I want for x-mas ;) . Where you nervous using the PC on your car?
