My Flex 3401 Died last night!! I will fix it (I hope)

Glad to hear that they figured it out. I wonder what went wrong with the switches. Solder connection possibly went bad?

Glad to hear they took care of you CJ. Now just be easy on her. Treat her with respect and she won't get pissed.

Thanks for the update.

It is the third time I see a 3401 with speed adjustment switch problems.

Our friend Tato had the same problem, with the 110V version, and he has both versions, I think.

The bad is that this part is quite expensive, around 80 bucks, I reckon. Plus labor.

The three of them were 110V. And I still haven't seen a 230V 3401 with the same problem.

Would it be the higher Amp in the 110V polishers, that would affect the speed adjustment switch?

I was just wondering, if anybody from around the world had the same problem with the 230V version, please drop us a line.

You are correct!! Parts are expensive. Labor was 1 hour at $75 The trigger Switch was $80 and the speed dial knob was $32. Very expensive parts. At least the brushes were fine and she said they had quite a bit more left before replacement. I do have the part numbers now and I know what to do in the future. The Flex is a very easy machine to take apart.

But she's running fine now.
