Can't go wrong with a GG6 polisher,5" backing plate, lake country flats or hydrotech pads and meguiars compounds and polish. Keep it simple😀

Ok, depending what you are using by hand, your chemicals don't necessarily need to change. You don't need a pad washer. Most people would go with a 5" backing plate like this:

lake country 5 inch backing plate, 5 inch backin plate, 5 inch hook and loop backing plate

Dual Action 5 Inch HD Backing Plate, DA backing plate, backing pad

Meguiars Soft Buff DBP5 DA Polisher 5 inch Backing Plate

And most people would pair that with these:

Lake Country 5 1/2 x 7/8 inch Beveled Edge Foam Pads, buffing pads, Lake Country curved edge pads, polishing pads

Or you might try these:

Lake Country Hydro-Tech 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pads , hydrotech foam pads for water-based polishes, lake country foam pads, buffing pads

Meguiars 5 Inch DA Foam Discs

Or these are good if you have a small air compressor to fluff up the pads after each section:

Meguiars DA Microfiber Correction System 5 Inch Starter Kit, paint correction kit, dual action polishing kit

First off do yourself a favor and get one of Mikes books. You will just get frustrated with your results if you don't have a handle on the basics. The most important thing is remember these 2 words, test spot! Remember this is supposed to be fun! Good luck
