Hi Guys,

I joined the forum lately and would like to introduce myself. I am from Pakistan and about to start my own setup to offer exterior/interior detailing services and offer home cleaning services with steam and hot water extractor machines. Before going further, I must say that Autogeek is the most informative site I ever came across, there is a lot of knowledge available on this site and experts recommendations are very valuable. The services you guys are giving or getting there are not available here or being offered partially so I see lot potential for these services if offered professionally and with good machines.

Taking this opportunity, I need assistance from my fellow members in selecting the following machines/material:

Steam Cleaning Machine: I found couple of good machines offered by Daimer, Mytee, Dupray etc. My questions related to steam cleaners are:

....shall I buy a steam cleaner with Vac option as I am also investing in hot water extractor? also should I buy a commercial grade machine?

....what are the recommended pressure levels for exterior and engine detailing?

...a boiler based steam cleaner is good or inline heater based?

...As i will be situated far away from US, what necessary steam machine spares I should buy from day one for a continuous service.

....Am I missing any tool here to be part of my setup? I read people recommending to buy a product name "Tornado" will that be useful?

Hot Water Extractor: after lot of reading on web I came to a conclusion that

...I should look for extractor certified by carpet and rug institute (CRI)? am I correct?

...Shall I buy a machine with adjustable pressure?

...Consumable Cleaning Materials...suggest me Car Waxes, Compound, body shampoos, carpet and upholstery cleaning liquids etc, Can I get brands like Maguires, Mothers, Wolf, Pinnacle etc in bulk packing to save cost? I wanted to have a stock of 6 months to start with so kindly tell based on your experience how much stock I consider assuming a modest estimate of 20 cars/month or 120 cars

....car polishers, car washer, detailing lights, infraRed lamps, Microfiber cloths(Bulk packing), cleaning brush kits,

...Any thing I am missing above

Appreciate your replies/suggestions and wish me a good luck!

Welcome aboard . I would buy some Mytee steamer , pretty good , & buy a separate Extractor , but it s me , will have to do this one day myself .

Where are AGO experts? I need suggestions to avoid mistakes before I place orders...

hello Mallic, sure you came to the right place / My personal advise on the Steam Machines you mention.

Daimer brand sure is one of the strongest, Heavy duty commercial grade machines, a lot of power, delivering strong 350F thats a lot of heat!!
way to much need it for this industry / Auto detail

The dupray, really nice steam&vacuum machines, sure will be nice to have one around my shop!!

Mytee is the Portable & Truck Mount brand, for residential & Commercial Carpet cleaners, use ofcourse for Upholstery, and sure one of the brands to choose for Autodetail world!!

Mytee is just one Brand, from a lot of other really nice, and heavy duty Portable extractors out there.
My self I own a 2-3stage Sniper Sandia with a 2000in line heater. does the reall nice work. other brands like [ the Jaguar 6.6. Hydroforce has nice portables. Prochem.

Commercial grade equipment will always be the strong choice. More expensive, better performance, more jobs to do with out over heating them.

If you want a machine that can delivers all in one. Then You will have to look into the Truck Mount Units then. there you will have plenty of power, suction,Psi,Heat,2 operators working at the same time, Check Truck Mount Forums. is the best forum to learn about this type of equipment.

you can use from 500psi - 700psi - 1000psi safe up to 1500psi for exterior car wash,

engine detail I use the steam / and some final rinse at just 500psi, so I don´t hit and brake some plastic connector by using to much force. over 1000psi Humm I wouldn´t recommend it. 500psi, 700psi is good enough.

you can check great machines by Hotsy brand / Hydrotek
Gas engine, electric engines, diesel burn, gas burn.

hope this info helps you!! Good luck
