So detailing my step dads truck took 3 days due to time problems, but between the polishing sessions I left the masking tape on the rear taillights. Well, turns out that 90-100 degree new mexico weather left me some nasty adhesive behind. What product would work best? I know theres adhesive removers and all that, but wanted to see what methods you folks here use. Cheers.

Try an IPA wipe down. If it is really stuck on some Tar-X would get rid of it no problem.

Best product for adhesive residue is 3M adhesive remover imo. It's about 5 dollars a can at walmart. Kind of expensive, but worth it.

Mineral Spirits is another universal product with so many great uses having it on hand is almost a must... :props:

This is a very safe and effective residue remover. This is what I would use to get it off.

3m wheel for taking off pin stripes

No, The wheel is only to be used on painted metal such as a door, fender, etc. Using on painted plastic is a use at your own risk. If you use the wheel on the tailights you will destroy them.

A few things come to mind:
TarX
Goo Gone
WD40
Zippo fluid could work... it's Naptha essentially
