Driving home on I635 in Dallas this rig undertook me on the right and as the traffic was slowing he hit his brakes, his left back wheels locked up then he was suddenly sideways in front of me, he corrects it and I am at the side of him, I just hit the gas and pass him before I get squished against the barrier, then I had to hit my brakes before I hit the car in front. He moved forwards just in time.

I cannot believe these big rigs go so fast and undertake, they are killing machines. In the UK they are restricted to 55mph on the motor ways and cannot use the outside lane.

Oh man, 635 is such a mess with all that construction right now. Glad you're alright. I remember seeing Jerry Seinfeld perform at Fair Park and he talked about how he got driven on the Tollway and how scared he was because of how fast everyone was driving

Just out of curiosity, were you between I-35 and 75? The way the new tunnel project makes those lanes pinch is just too crazy. I avoid 635 as much as I can. I picked up a friend that lives in Lake Highlands for dinner the other night, and I just took Hillcrest to Royal rather than take 635 to Skillman or Abrams.

Be safe on future commutes and drive defensively - like you've demonstrated. I hope truckers realize that an extra five minutes in traffic won't kill them, but may kill someone else.

Glad you are ok and vent away IMO.

I found out that I actually died. Literally the machine went "beeeep"

Weird...

But sometimes it happens.

Cheers guys. yes I was almost near Coit. Gonna take George Bush in future may cost a few $$ but better alive, that freaked me out. Also after coming down 75 last week from McKinney and a piece of re bar with a concrete block flew off a trailer and smashed the front of my car I am thinking of staying off the freeways. It took out a fog light and have holes in the bumper, just missed the radiator by a few mm.

Was thinking of getting a smaller SUV due to low 18mpg consumption, now thinking of getting a Hummer.

Damn, that's crazy. Glad you're alright. Truckers drive way too fast and I've seen them switch lanes as if they were driving a sports car.

As I've gotten older, when times like these happen, as my life passes before my eyes, I try to take the opportunity to see the things I've done; the things I might have done; and decide if there are any things I should do before the"Big One" hits me.

Rave on.:):xyxthumbs:
