The towels I used are the generic blue paper shop towels I get in 4-pack rolls at AutoZone or wherever. I've only done the front fairing of the bike with OC so far, no marring whatsoever from application and it looks good so far for keeping swirls at bay. I got it good and bug-splattered and gave it a wash... no swirls on the fairing. On one section I used a bug sponge and QD to remove bugs in a very small area just for a look-see, a sure recipe for some serious marring pre-OC. Not so much as a mark. Im the MAN

Got soft black paint that swirls easily? OC is what you want, IMO.

I just got a 2-pack of the Scott blue towels at Wal-Mart...passed them somewhere in the store and said what the heck.
 
Lol, I picked up a 10 pack from Costco for like $14. Going to try this application method on my wifes Mini Cooper and then will try it on the black Porsche next. Hope I don't get any marring, but the wind seems to mar that car!
 
sorry for bumping up an old post but i really have a question i need to ask.

For spray application how much product is needed specifically or approximately for a standard sized saloon? more than 20cc?
 
OC is way to expensive to spray with a gun like that :eek:

Does anyone use a simple pump sprayer bottle... small cosmetic type? I've thought about doing that, but wasn't sure if it would dry and clog up the sprayer tip.

I've never sprayed a whole car...just grilles and wheels, so I'm not sure how much it'd take.

you can use one of those to get it to the pad, but it will not be uniform enough to spray on the paint with the intentions of just leaving it. You could spray it on the paint with the intent of wiping it, but you would need to control overspray by staying out ot the wind.
 
Agreed. I was just considering a small spray bottle as an alternative to the syringe... mist on surface and wipe.

I was not aware that some were spraying on OC and letting it cure without any wipedown? That's great because it makes me feel better about an idea I have for OC. :xyxthumbs:

I've used airbrushes and hvlps plenty... but I just don't see how it would be an efficient way to use this product. Unless maybe you can buy OC by the quart.

btw, I meant "too" expensive..... sorry, that's a pet peave of mine and I was too sloppy to catch it myself.:bat:
