..........Well its not exactly beginning, more like continuing.

My name is Fred Elias, I live in Warren (S.E.) Michigan, just North of Detroit.

Late last spring I was up north visiting a friends ranch in the Harbor Springs area. After not moving and being parked under a pine tree for three days my car was to say the least a mess. Between honeydew and/or tree sap I was looking at serious removal problems.

A brief search on the net landed me at AutoGeek and my saga began.

I think I have ordered 10 out of the last 12 weeks and yet to pay any shipping. The Flex DA was on about my 2nd order followed by several of every pad that will go on it. The Flex was followed by the Griot 3" and pads for it. I have all the waxes from Fuzion on down and just about everything else the site sells. My detail kit contains 7 different waxes, several of which I melted down and poured into 2oz stick deodorant containers I shopped for and purchased. Much more but I will stop here.

People tell me my 2004 Driftwood Beige (Gold) Prius is the best looking one they have ever seen. Wait till they see the 2010 Blizzard White (Pearlescent) one on the way.

I will be in FL for much of the winter and am looking forward to Thursday night garage and Detailing 101 and 2. I almost wish Melbourne (FL) was a little further distant from AutoGeek.

I am single (Divorced several years ago) and I can't imagine how you guys and gals explain this passion to a spouse and family. I don't even tell my friends how deep I am in!!

Anyhow, thanks for looking. This is my story and I am sticking to it. AAAAAH feeling of relief, finally out.

Welcome to AG, I am orginally from Royal Oak. My girlfriend thinks I have a problem when it comes to detailing, so I don't even try to explain it.

My mother and sister live in Michigan, I believe its called White Lake ?? Use to live in Royal Oak prior to mom retiring. Nice area, loved the Woodward Dream Cruise visits.

Florida is best for having Autogeek in state, and being able to detail year round. Cannot wait to see pics of rides, and hopefully you can find a new spouse to help keep the cars clean. Welcome !!

2 questions for you...

1) Could you explain your process to melt your Wax and then fill deodorant Sticks. This sounds interesting.

2) If your Single... then who is the Honey in your Avatar ?

I will be happy to explain and show my wax melting process. Give me a day or two to get some pictures.

The honey in the AVI (All 5' 11" of her) was a friend a few years ago. For those of you lucky enough to live in the Phoenix AZ area, she is a practicing dentist.

When your wife don't care about cars you don't even try to explain your passion to her. Just let her do her own thing while you do yours. I use to live in SE Michigan but have now lived in south Florida since 1996. I don't live by Autogeek but I live close enough to get my orders the next day.

I wish I could move to Florida! Few more years of college and I can leave this Michigan state!

Though you're from the wrong (i.e. Lower) part of Michigan, I guess the Yooper in me will accept you as being one of my brethren. heh I live in Lynchburg, VA. right now, but grew up in Ishpeming, Negaunee and Marquette as a child. LOVED it up there, but now live in the land of 2 seasons...Cold with no snow or HOT AS HADES!

Welcome to AG!

I'm always a fan of people finding their own way but keep in mind, re-melting a wax includes the potential to change the properties of individual ingredients and thus the entire formula thus it may not perform as the manufacture intended.

I sure hope you will be having classes and Thursday Night Garage again before next fall. Maybe like once a month?

As far as re-melting wax, I totally agree with you and will address the potential outcomes as well as appropriate warnings.
