You might be able to work a trade-off deal with a good painter. He could put a paint job he would be proud of on the truck in exchange for good advertising spots on the finished truck.

not a bad idea ronnie. i have narrowed down my painters and maybe who ever is willing to do it gets da work..thanx

update...recently found a painter who will give me a good deal. he's also going to do the decal for me, refinish headlight trim, and paint lower half and just charge me for the labor(he has da paint already). im going with silver for the upper half and atomic orange(think corvette) on da bottom, then spray da logo with da orange. saving up a few more dollars to get started, but will keep every1 posted

That's awesome!

:iagree:

One thing though - make sure the cockpit is safe. hit in a truck like that by an 18-wheeler and...

I don't care what kind of rig your in, if you get hit by an 18 wheeler at speed, the outcome would be bleak at best no matter what car/truck your in.

It doesn't look likes it's in that bad of condition, I would start by seeing where you can get with polishing the paint.

its an '82 chevy based, grumman body style step van. about 250k miles

i have thought about keeping it as is, but since it will also serve as advertising i feel it best to do everything at once. instead of loading supplies and equipmnt and having to delay any work. ill still be working my day job, but i want to be in high gear by the time spring/summer arrive.

NICE! I like that, especially the Corvette orange/ burnt copper!

its mechanically sound....ive changed all fluids except 4 rear diff. 3 spd tranny shifts good, dropped fluid in it nd didnt have to worry about a filter. new belts and hoses. next up air filter and gas filter and itz all good.

upon further review and crunching the numbers....i have recently decided to put off da paint job for now. the numbers just didnt make sense as a start-up regardless of how good a deal it was. i have given it a good washing at a coin-op and saw the paint was in even better condition and i used some cleaner wax on a test spot. as u can see it isa white truck, so it doesnt really pop, but i can tell the difference. my plan now is to let this rain pass ova, give it another good washing, polishing, waxing, and use the before/after pictures in my brochures to highlight my work.

showroom shine mobile detailing in san antonio, tx has been up and running for about 3 months ago. Some may remember this original posting, but as of last week ive been operating on a full time basis. Not shown is my pressure washer, storage shelves towards the front. Also need to add some hooks for storage of hoses and extension cords. The h2o tank takes up alot of space. I got it at a good price and i also do tractor-trailers so the xtra water helps. Im 85% satisfied with the set-up so far.
