My neighbor yelled at me for washing my cars too often.

I just read the whole thread. I get someone who is on a Green kick to say something about water usage but what lead into "you are a Neo Facsist Idol Worshiper" Bumper stickers? I'm in eastern PA and it looked like we might go into water restrictions but then we had a very rainy may. We're good water wise.

LOL thats a trip... keep us updated!! And keep washing more cars! Ahaha

I will keep you updated as the weekend progresses. This is going to be a fun weekend! I may even offer to wash the other neighbors cars for free!

If you really are worried if he makes more contact with you, consider contacting the police and discuss the situation with them including what the law could do (either against you or your neighbor) in case your neighbor tries to get too clever. This way you know exactly where you stand with the police rather than finding out later.

I would tell him I make up for it by not taking a shower or washing clothes, and flushing the toilet only once a day.

What a jerk!

Just a quickie question or two...How old is this guy? Just some old fart who has a stiffy for younger folks or just the infamous neighborhood busy body? Has anyone else had any problem with him?

Bill

I just love how my new security company's "yard sign" has become such a neighborhood conversation "piece":

:D

I think he is insinuating that an Acura TL is an over the top car. He drives a Honda Civic that is over 12 years old. My car probably pollutes less than his.

He is about 48-50. He is anti social and often glares at others in the neighborhood.

I went out last night and bought a whole bunch of water sucking annual flowers. I planted some and will finish this today. I will be sure to water them often.

In all seriousness, this is the USA. this is a free country. I pay tons of taxes on my income, my house, and my business. I pay my water bill, which is metered. So if I use tons of water, I am billed for it.

On Memorial Day weekend, I am thankful for all of our serviceman who have given up their lives for our freedoms. This guy is just one of those guys that exists in every neighborhood in the country.

If he shows up again, the cops are coming. I am not playing around with this guy.

Personally, I like the "logic" approach. Tends to make the emotional thinkers crazy. Here's how the conversation might go:

130 gallons you say? That's 25 of these 5-gallon buckets, right? You've been watching me, right? And I've only filled up these two, right?

Time for you to leave me alone now. . . .

Then I'd spray him with the hose:dblthumb2:

LOL at 180 gallons. Where did he come up with that number?

It is an often repeated environmental mantra for the green movement. I found it on a google search. My water pressure fills up a 5 gallon bucket in about a minute. So I would have to leave my hose on continuously for 36 minutes to reach 180 gallons.

The environmentalists mention the running hose. Like who doesn't have a hose nozzle?

The commercial car wash industry has been providing statistics on why home car washers is a water waster. Why they want to ban it so you have to go to them. In our area even during water restrictions, commercial car wash places can continue to operate if they meet certain recycling requirements, etc.

Well, that's today's world, anti-science, anti-fact, with the internet and cable tv, you don't have to listen to facts or other viewpoints, you can just listen to people who agree with you all day long, and who might be making stuff up. News is about entertainment now, and used for political purposes, rather than informing the public in a non-biased way.

So Arack, I guess you can thank the car wash industry for pushing that "gallonage" number from back in the 50's when no one had hose nozzles, and stoking outrage in people who have nothing better to do, and the media for reporting it instead of real news.

after you wash the cars, wash the outside of the house. he should be happy about that cause you stopped washing your car.

LMAO!!! Washing the windows wouldn't be a bad idea.

Start spraying the bricks when he comes over. Say to him " I wonder if my house will grow if I keep watering these!"

Spray him with the hose and tell him to get off your property!

This is exactly what I'd do!

Was there a full moon recently? For some reason this gets the wacko's and nut-jobs going and they do all sorts of strange things.....

You could also turn off your AC this summer and instead keep your house cool with a steady stream of water sprayed onto the roof. Might need a few hoses for better coverage. :props:
