As you guy's know I had the same set of wheels as these and posted up how they pitted and peeled very poorly and had to send them back to the vendor on ebay, in which he did issue me my refund. What I decided to do was sand the inner wheel barrels down and do all for wheels with Duplicolor sprayon pickup bed liner with kevlar
the project took me 8 hours including mounting and dismounting the wheels from the car. I heated up my basement to 90 degrees 25 degrees out in mass. Did 3 coats of
of the bedliner after sanding and using etching primer here are how the wheels turned out. I baked them for 14 hours with 2 quarts heaters and then polished them with the Collinite #850 all metal polish. Any opinions comments welcome.

Why would you use bed liner? I understand that your last ones pitted, but you don't think that is going to cause problems with balancing or mounting weights? I don't think you are going to be able to use the stick on weights because the bed liner isn't smooth. I mean i guess it doesn't look bad but I would have never done it. Also you probably won't be able to get a refund if anything happens with these wheels since you sanded an "painted" them. Just my opinion.....

I used bedliner because of the stength and toughness of it. I read on the jeep forums that alot of guy's use this stuff for wheel barrells and
the whole outside wheel. I live in Mass and figured this would be the best bet. This will be a learning experiance for me, if this does not work out I will get some nice TSW'S but not chrome. It actually looks very nice in the car and it was the 1st time I used the collinite #850, easily the best polish that I have used. I have a good feeling that this will work out fine. Plus I have my 17'' stock wheels in my garage, see siggy.

Looks pretty good. Should wear like iron. Wheel weights shouldn't be a problem. I see one on the inside lip already. If they need to go on the barrell thats whay glue was invented.

The wheels came with a gritty look chrome wheel barrel almost like you chromed over sand paper. Which was done delibaratly from the MFG. So I had a gut feeling that
this would really protect the inner barrell from sand, road salt etc. If its tough enough for a bedliner why not wheel barrells. The worst thing that can happen is I can strip this off then have them powder coated if need be. Thank you.

I used bedliner because it does not peel or chip, The inside barrells were a rough chrome, like as if they chromed over sandpaper. This stuff dried like a matte black,
repells brake dust and water. My friend at townfair tire told me he would have no problem putting weights on these to balance them and as a matter of fact alot of wheels regular silver/black or some chrome have matte black painted barrells.
BTW I drove my car last night absolutly no balance issuses at all and this stuff is not any heavier than a paint or clearcoat. If you saw how nice these wheels came put in person, I think you would say wow what a great Idea. I feel what I did is only going to prolong the life of the wheels, this stuff is as hard a a rock..guy's in the jeep forums use this stuff to paint their whole rim to go off road.

Looks great

Thank you,
I got these wheels like 2 weeks ago b4 I got my refund and my stock OEM'S back so I had no other choice but to get these mounted and balanced since this is my daily driver. And I am going to run these wheels from March through Novemeber then I am
going to use my original painted OEM's for winter rims and winter tires. I did not want to run the risk of these pitting again. They seem to start behind where the spoke meets the wheel barrel then spreads.into the wheel barrel then to the outer chrome. The original deal was you trade in your stock OEM alloy wheels which he gives you $700 plus $699 or pay $1399 total cash. So I got my OEM's back + 699 and bough these from another MFG. $1000. So I made 500 dollars an got my OEMS back. These new wheels are much better quality chrome and figured that I would use the bedliner b4 anything happened like the old wheels which where polished with mother's chrome polish and this still happened, even during the summer they started to pit.
This is what the old wheels did.
