My New HHR Panel as my Mobile Detailing Vehicle

I've finally had a little time to get some work done on the HRR. I still love it and it works perfectly for the mobile detailing biz.

Got new brakes last week and spent most of Monday doing the first half of a correction after I had some dents removed. Before the correcting I debadged it and took the rear wiper off to get it ready for decals.

It's in the shop getting those graphics on it tonight. Once I get it back the plan is to do a final polish and I'm gonna coat it with Gloss Coat.

Still need to get new tires and a pump for the water tank/pressure washer, but it's really comin along. I'll post final pictures of the graphics once I get it coated.

Can't wait to see the graphics. Let us see it if you can or want. I'm stoked it's working out for you!

Nice set up not sure if I missed but your pressure washer gas or electric make and model are you using a pump to pull water from tank to presssure washer?

I like this rig! My HHR SS, which served as my daily driver and detail rig, was totaled March 6th. I was rear ended by an 11 ton city bus. Just know this, if you get hit from the rear the HHR takes the hit like a champ! It is very well built despite what you might think.

Sorry guys, been a while since I've updated this, with my recent move from Seattle to Bend, OR I haven't had too much time to be online, but the car is working out fantastically so far! I absolutely love it as my detailing rig.

Pressure washer is electric. I went with the AR 383 as it was the biggest and best electric one that I could reasonably fit inside the car. As of right now, I'm just using it with water from the customer (and this is how I plan to continue using it for the most part) although I do have a 26 gallon tank in the car that will eventually be plumbed to be used when I don't have access to running water, I just need some time to get everything together. I'll post an update in here once I get around to it, hopefully within the next month.

Thanks, good to know, and sorry about your loss. The SS's look pretty sweet, and if I could do it all over again, I'd probably go with a manual SS Panel if I was able to find one. I feel like it is the perfect mobile vehicle for a small one or two man mobile detailing operation.

Alright, sorry for taking an insanely long time to post pictures of the decals, but here's what it looked like after coming out of the shop. I plan on hopefully putting up a full ShowNShine if I can get around to it, but here's this for now.

A pretty full correction was done before the graphics were put on and then after I did a final polish and coated with Gloss Coat, headlights with Opti-Lens, all glass with Opti-Glass Pro, all trim with CarPro Dlux and the wheels with CarPro Hydro2 for now (I plan to give them a full once over this summer and coat them after that. I'm quite happy with the final results and get way more people stop by while I'm at jobs and ask for quotes or about the business. Definitely been more than worth it so far.

Here's the pics:

Finally took some time to take some pictures of the whole interior setup as someone else asked in another thread, so I figured I should update this one as well for others who might be interested in how they can fit everything in the back of an HHR.

The back end completely unloaded:

Water tank and all my "paint" MF towels accessible from passenger rear door: (98% of the time I simply use the customer's water, so the 26 gallon tank is really only to fill buckets when I need to do a rinseless wash, so that's why I decided not to bother with adding a pump and all that's involved with that.

It's kind dark, but I've got my two five gallon buckets with all washing stuff, leaf blower, steam cleaner, a bag of old towels for engines and jumper cables all accessible from drivers side rear door:

A shot from the back end, with the vacuum on top of my steam cleaner:

Add the platform ladder and I've got a defined space for everything else left:

Then my pressure washer and two buckets containing all my cleaners, compounds, waxes, sealants, and whatever else I might need to detail a car:
image7102.JPG

Then I add a tower with all my glass MF's and most of my pads, a square bucket with all my interior MF's and a stacking drawer thing with all my brushes, tools and random small things.

Finally I add my hose and when I'm doing large trucks, my larger ladder:

And a couple final shots from doors with everything in - also, just barely visible in these pics are all my buffers on the floor under the front passenger seat and all my extension cords, vacuum hose, and steam cleaner hose under my drivers seat:

It's a tight fit overall, but nothing moves barely at all no matter how hard I have to brake or a fast I go around a corner, so it actually works out quite nicely.

Looks like an awesome setup you got there! Ive always been a truck guy but these little panels are starting to pique my interest!

Now that is nice (set up) if I can find a video of someone using a KRANZLE pressure washer pulling solely from a tank, I may try to do a similar rig. again nice rig and best wishes on your business venture.

AWESOME setup!

Thanks, it took a little work to make everything fit, but once I figured out the puzzle, it fit perfectly and nothing moves at all when I drive. I wouldn't trade it for anything - and the best part is it's got just over 50k miles and in my small town I only put about 7k a year on it, so I can probably use it as long as I want!

any videos in action?

What are you looking to see "in action"? I can take a video if you want, just want to make sure I get what your looking for. I don't have the tank plummed (I just use it for filling buckets for rinseless washes if my customer doesn't have water I can access) so nothing in the car is ever really in action, but I could take a video of everything being loaded in or something if that's what you're interested in?? It could use a good cleaning inside after getting everything out.

Haha that's AWESOME!

Much better than have a big ol v6/v8 van wasting a bunch of gas :D

Yup!! I fill up ($30-$40 a tank depending on prices) less than twice a month and that using it as my full-time detailing vehicle.
