Too keep it all short my truck was stolen about 3 weeks ago outside of my work. I had been using my truck as a way of me practicing detailing for a side hobby since the paint was in horrible condition. As of right now my dreams of becoming as good as some of you guys have been put on hold mostly because I only had the motivation to work on my truck till I had enough experience to try on others. Hopefully bigger and better things will come. thankfully I did have full coverage insurance with Allstate so now I just am playing the waiting game to see what the settlement will be for. ... ...

In the meantime:
You can always go to the junk yard(s)
and pick up a panel, or two, in order
to have something to practice on.

Sorry to hear that man!

Did they torch it or crash it bad? There's a lot of truck missing...

They stripped it, and then left it to burn in the fields, they found my truck about two hours away from where I live. Right now these trucks are being stolen daily here especially any Silverado or Sierra from 99-07.

Man, that's just rotten. Sorry to hear/ see this. Hope your insurance settlement makes up for this.

That sucks man. Like you said, hopefully something better will come from this. Until then just keep practicing on friends and family's rides and you'll be golden.

sounds like you will have different incoming ride to practice on..

good luck with the next steps of another vehicle..

that's awful to hear, don't let this derail your endeavors or you will have let the thugs that stole it win. No business was ever built without some kind of obstacle, use this on how to manage and overcome obstacles. Start your business!

Not to sound stupid but did you contact local pd about this and show pictures? They are using the same MO it seems by stealing the truck, stripping it and burning it. Alot of bank robbies and fraud happens in the east coat this way using the same method over and over because they easily can be done...

Sorry Criminal Justice Major thinking here but I would first talk with local pd and show pictures of what happened to the truck and it might help other cases

Sorry to hear that man, had mine stolen from my driveway about two years ago, got into a police chase, and got it back within a week. Found it in a ditch. I trend to practice on my brother Mustang and got better at it.

That's crazy! It looks like your truck wasn't the only one they did this too. I see a few other vehicles in that picture that have been stripped and torched. Good luck dealing with the insurance company.

I hate this happened but perhaps there's a message here. Use it as a motivator to go into business. Sounds like you need a little a boost of confidence. Nothing wrong with practicing but you can overthink, research, question, read the forums, view videos over and over again. Trust yourself and take that leap of faith.

Was it an LS based engine? Im just wondering what the big draw would be to those trucks cause they seem like there are MILLIONS of them which would lower the value of parts. I know the LS is pretty popular so that is the only thing I can think of.

Thanks to all the replies guys really do appreciate it. I will use this as more of a motivation to continue to strive for success. Yeah it sucks they did this to me but now I'm more ambitious to continue with school and better myself. Now my city/county is a big trucking community. We have a bunch of truck clubs and competitions year round so what's happening atm is people are doing there best to get ahold of these truck parts and sell them for profit. It sucks I was a victim but hopefully everything will work out and I'll move on past this obstacle. At the tow yard there were 3 other trucks like mine and they also told me just last month they recovered about 7-10 trucks in the same condition. Burned and stripped.
