My porter cable shaft broke after 5 cars from a part time pro detailer. I didn't get it from AG, I had the DA for about 4 months. What da would you get to replace it or send it back???
 
Were you using the supplied wrench to change or put on the backing plate? Look into the Griots Garage 6 inch.

I never changed the backing plate. I have all 6 inch pads. I used the supplied wrench to tighten the pad upon installation .
 
You bought it new 4 months ago? It's still under warranty, find your receipt and send it to a Porter Cable service center.
 
They have a factory service center near Ft. Lauderdale, or an authorized shop in Cape Coral, otherwise ship it to them.
 
Another shaft bytes the dust...

Sucks man, but at least its under warranty.
 
Disconcerting thread now that there are two in our garage and only one has been used on one car. Hopefully you are able to get yours fixed up quickly and get you back in action.
 
I will find out Monday .my local supply man is on vacation until Monday . If it's more than 50 dollars to fix I am get s GG to match 3 inch da.

I have one word for you: WARRANTY

Is this thing on? I even posted the link to the Porter Cable service center locator.
 
I just sent it away. I will just us my black and decker rotory .
