I know we have A thread to do business on, I am formally asking for a trade forum. Here are my proposed rules:

All brands listed to be carried by AG unless the item in question is a miscelaneous object not pertaining to Autogeek's products or competitors.

Payment methods are to be listed by the seller, and by the buyer agreeing to that method, if he/she breaks the agreement, 1 month banning from buying/selling. Second time, 2 months, 3rd time 6 months. I am emphasizing that were not thiefs, it will not be tolelrated to abuse our nice members here.

Must have gained the rank of Senior Member or above 100+ posts to sell, not buy. This is designed to help the buyers make sure they get a good experience through the AG classifieds.

NO asking for freebies here. To request a sample, start your thread with a WTT [Want to Trade] offering a member something for something you want to try.

Private contact information to be transacted through PM only, paypal address exempt.

Confirm offer through a PM first before sending paypal. This is to avoid people posting "first" and calling "dibs"; going ahead and sending a paypal payment, then causing a mess. This also provides proof of a transaction if situation requires the authority of the red named people.

If you agree, please sign! :cheers: I hope this will come about to allow more trade between AG customers, and further everyone's knowledge of products.

We are already contemplating a "classified" area ... but I suspect that if one will exist that AG will except to liability, will NOT police the area, and cannot be used as a arbitrator in such area.

You would literally have to agree on your own merits, your own reputation, and your good name. It would not be Ebay nor an area that was designed for someone to simply trade, sell, and move their wares for free on a consistent basis. There is more to think about at this point ... alot more.

is noted. Im just seeing ho would be interested in this idea. if it is a bother to AG, then I dont wish it to happen.

I think all who want to trade should be able to do so if AG allows it,some forums do not because they don't want to be involved in any gripes or bad deals.. to verify a good/bad trade you can leave feedback on a page desiganated for trades.. I think it wouldn't be PC to exclude members whitout an X amount of post not to be able to participate .02.. designating the items that are sponsored by Ag would be great to let others try out samples ,but then again AG is always accomadating to offer trial samples with in reason to anyone who places an order ..excluding items will never allow others to experience different products ..Trying different products is what detaing is about..

also i think people who purchase more then they could use would end up trying to sell there items here..I think killer started a thread very early on when the forum started..so whay hasn't anyone taken advantage of his thread?

no freebies? what if my friend Texas needs an item i have and i want to give it to him because chris is in need ..a person could be banned for doing a good deed. I beleive your intentions are good but not quite a good idea.

I suspect killerwheels thread may have thought Ryan to comtemplate a safeway for members to trade with each other

Not to intrude on internal politics . . . but there are forums with trading/selling thread areas that work very well and efficiently. Obviously rules must be put into place, but being a member of another very popular forum and having bought/sold items from other members has left me with a very posative expierience.

Sometimes we all just accumulate too much stuff. It would be a nice addition to the already plentiful features this particular forum offers it's members to have a designated buy/sell/trade area.

Not that my oppinion counts much here, since I am a new member, but I agree with Martini's concept. Perhaps other forums can be evaluated by this forums administrators in an effort to come up with a model for this forum . .

As a mod on a PC Gaming forum, i'll throw my 2c here. We do allow trading on our other forum but we have rules in place as a sticky for that forum section.

Hope this helps AG, if they decide to go with it or not.

Below is an example of the rules we impose and the mods keep an eye on the threads:

===============================================

Trading Rules:

* You MUST display your profile with a valid email address.
* You MUST post a price for ALL FS deals and FS/FT deals.
* You cannot sell something you do not have in your immediate possession.
* If you ask for a dead part with the intent to defraud a company or individual, if you do your thread will be deleted and you will be banned immediately.

* No bootleg software distribution. Anyone who knowingly buys, sells, trades, or distributes bootlegged (Warez) software through this forum will be suspended or permanently banned at the mods/admins discretion.
* No sales or trades of Academic or NFR (Not For Resale / Retail distribution) software. If you are caught selling or trading this type of software you will be suspended or permanently banned at the mods/admins discretion.

* OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) software sales must include an appropriate piece of hardware to keep the sale legit. For example, an 80 GB hard drive, or an entire PC would be appropriate hardware with a copy of an OS. A pencil would not.
* No individual Microsoft CD or COA (Certificate Of Authenticity) sales. You must sell the software as it was originally packaged.
* No sales of "CD keys" without the original CD.
* No SPAM, NEF'ing, or TROLLing.
* No multi-level marketing schemes.
* No auction style posts (take it to eBay).
* No direct links to auction sites of any kind, including ebay.
* No misleading thread titles. (nude pics, goats, etc.)
* No price or interest checks of any kind.
* No excessive bumping of your own thread. Any bumping over once in 24 hours will be concidered excessive.
* No "contest" or "giveaway" threads.
* No coupon (code) sales.
* No alcohol, tobacco, firearm, or any weapons sales.
* No "Group Buys." If you do not own it, you can't sell or trade it.
* No "services" allowed. (ex. I can build xxx for you @ xxx each)
* No Pornographic (XXX) items.

* No DSS/DirecTV (H & HU) or DISH Network (S, Rom, etc.) cards, except when the card is a standard part of a complete, legal receiver system. This also includes hardware & software for enabling DSS/DISH emulation, which is not legal in the U.S.
* No "dealers" or "vendors" of any kind. If you acquire items in quantity (bulk sales) with the intent of offering them for resale, here, you are a dealer under this rule. In addition, you may not place URL's in your profile or signature that link to an offsite FS/T list.

Please Note: PayPal's terms of service now prohibit charging buyers a "service fee" or "service charge." Any threads requesting this will be deemed in violation of the rules and will be deleted.

NOTE: All decisions about the rules are at the discression of the mods, if you dislike the ruling of the mod in your case, your first recourse is to take the issue up with the mod who made it. Following that you can take it up with the admins. Also know that any threads or parts of threads that violate the rules in any way will be removed at the mods discretion.

I'm totally in. I even have a ton of Wal Mart sample bottles.

Trading is possible, and can be done thru the Off-topic area currently. Essentially swapping products or samples. We are still contemplating a true "garage sale" area where items could be sold outright.

Agreed and I am in the same boat as you.

ok im suggesting a trading forum then if we want to trade samples. it would be alot more structured than posting tons of WTT this for that in the off topic forum, Maybe we can start off with a trading forum ?
