Hello, I wanted to post a review of three edgelss MF towels (all can be purchased from AG)
I know were always in search for the perfect edgeless MF towel, but it seems like there is always something that keeps it from perfect and gives us second thoughts of it touching our paint.

I'm comparing the white Meguiars Ultimate Wipe, the green Sonus Wun Der Something or other Polishing Towel, and the yellow Mothers Ultra Soft Edgless Polishing Cloth.

Between the Megs and Sonus they are pretty much the same thickness, the Megs may seems to have an edge as far as fluffiness, but the Sonus is a bit denser.

(You can see my finger indentations on the Megs as I pushed down on it)

The Sonus has an interesting edge to it, kindof melted/laser cut, but I cannot get it to scratch a soft DVD unless I press very hard on the edge. The Meguiars barnicle things on the one edge can scratch fairly easily.

The Mothers towel is soft and very thick compared to both others. The Mothers seems like it is a true edgeless towel, as it seems "woven" all around... Its either so thick that the nap pertrudes past the edge and you cant see it.

The Mothers is almost twice as thick and fluffy as either towel.

The only negatives about the Mothers towel is that I bought 2 of them (from a Honda parts center) and they are slightly different from each other, the material looks thicker on one and the other has a very slight different weave to it... oh well.

The one thing I didn't like also was that they had that sticky label on them and one came off somewhat ok, and the other was attached so strong that the label split and left residue and paper stuck to the other. They may have been hanging on the shelf for quite some time and the adhesive on the label may have set in pretty good.

The Mothers and the Megs are both made in Korea :xyxthumbs:, but the Sonus left me a bit disappointed as it was made in China. If you closely examine the photo AG has from the mfg, it says made in Korea as well, but it looks like the mfg may have changed them up a bit. The labels on the ones I recieved were different than what is pictured.
(The labels that came on the Mothers towels was just like in the Sonus stock photo)

So the winner is clearly the Mothers towel, costs a bit more, but it does seem like it is the closest thing to a true edgeless towel. Hopefully they are still Korean made.

Excellent review, thanks!

I have the green sonus and the edges are strange. They're a good towel, but the old school cobra indigos are the best. I'm gonna give the mothers towel a shot!

I remember the post that compared the indigo/arctic whites to the Megs UW and those Cobras sure did look like an awsome towel... I never had a chance to try them. Hopefully they'll make a come back and I'll order several of them :props:

the mothers edgeless towels are very nice as are the mothers quick detailing towel. they are both every bit as good as any other higher priced boutique towels...

Sonus edge melted or laser cut? Are you sure?
Not the ones I have... It's been awhile since I bought them though. Have they changed?

Mine either Corey, and I have 6 of them.

Corey and Chris, do your green sonus edges look like the one in the pics? Mine do. The are not true edgeless like the old school cobra indigos, IMO.

I forgot to say.. Thank you for the writeup newbdetailer :dblthumb2:

Good to hear!

I don't know Mark. I don't see a closeup picture of the edge here.

If you look closely in the 1st and 3rd pic, you'll see what I'm talking about. The edges are not flush per say. There's a "nap", a different cut around the edges. Do you see what I mean?

I found the edgeless indigos on another site. They look to be the same exact towel as the cobra. Gonna buy a few and see if they are.

As far as color/texture yes but the pic does not show the edges well.
When I get home (couple hours),I'll take a edge close up picture.

You can clearly see the edge of the towel is not the same makeup as the rest of the towel. It definitely has a different cut. The camera couldn't focus perfect, but you can tell.
