Ordered a Rupes LHR15ES from Autogeek and was anxiously waiting. It finally came today. Does this look like it is used? The box is broken and there's double tape marks. The bag inside looks worn. My biggest concern is that the digit 4 on the speed dial is worn. When I pay $350 for a tool I expect it to look new...

Call customer service they will take care of you. They are the best.

I doubt that it is used as the PBMG warehouse only contains new products.
It appears to me that the product container and polisher suffered some damage on a prior bulk shipment, or en route to you.

Don't worry AG will take care of you.

Yes will call tomorrow. Funny how the manual calls it a polishing mop.

The outside shipping box looks in good condition though no damage so probably damage before. That doesn't explain the worn digit 4 on speed dial though.

The digit may not be worn maybe when they printed the numbers onto the dial the ink wasn't applied correctly or something touched the dial before it was dry.AG has no reason to ship a used machine if you ever seen the size of their warehouses their isn't enough room for used machines. I've done a ton of Thursday night details there trust me used isn't in their dictionary

Is it really "worn" or just a part that got damaged or wasn't right in the first place during manufacture? I think you're just looking at a coincidence between a busted box and a bad thumbwheel, I doubt it's a used unit.

+1. You can use a polisher for years before the ink will wear off the dial. However, that would annoy me, as you may not be able to quickly glance at the dial to see the speed in certain situations. That is bad. If the tape is on the actual Rupes box to keep it shut, that is bad as well, as most people would store their polisher in the box. That would annoy me as well.

But, my guess would be it is a coincidence. I guess its up to you wether or not to ask for another one. I can't see them shipping out one that was used, ON PURPOSE, as I'm sure its pretty easy to sell a slightly used one for a few bucks off. Maybe it was sent by accident, or maybe Rupes did some QC testing with that unit.

Either way, I agree. If your paying full price it should be perfect, as these aren't Turtle Wax $19.99 jobbers. Someone put tape on that box, you shod have been made aware ahead of time.

Return it and demand a new one. Rupes products are flawless from the factory.

As bad as I would want to use it, I'd send it back for another one.... Being brand new the 4 would make me crazy!!!!
