My solution to $150 foam guns...

That looks about what my car looks like also. Perhaps it is the local hard water but the foaming is only OK and it dries really quickly, even at 50deg in the shade!

Planning to pick one of these up tomorrow. Accidentally bought the wrong type the other day when purchasing my power washer, but this seems like a good cheap way to get some easy suds.

Just picked up the Greenworks 1700psi PW at Lowes for $189 and the Foam Blaster at HD for $19 after reading part of this thread. I'm pretty happy with the power washer and got a lot done on the sidewalk and front steps besides playing with the foam blaster on my two cars.

I tried the Megs Gold Class and it seems to foam up okay, but nothing like what I've seen with a foam cannon. It will work for now. I just didn't want to sink more money into things than I absolutely had to. Anyway, I tried 2 oz in the bottle of some Wolfgang auto bath and that seemed to foam okay with the soap lever wide open, but I almost didn't cover my mini-van before it was gone. I tried 4 oz of Gold Class on my Suburban and again barely covered the whole thing. That's A LOT of soap for one vehicle, especially if I were to follow with a bucket wash that has another couple oz in it.

I hadn't read the comments about the hard water until after I was done, and I think that may be why I wasn't getting enough foam. I have VERY hard water. I have a CR spotless, but didn't try it with the foamer. I only use it for rinsing when possible.

On a side note, is a 1700psi PW with 1.4 gpm rate okay to use with the CR? I have a vague memory of reading something about the CR not flowing enough water to keep up, but I'm not sure. It seemed to do okay, but I wasn't running it non-stop.

I gave this a 2 tries this weekend. Decided to just use some cheap car-wash in the container and then my normal in my bucket.
My first try, like many have mentioned, it ate up the container really fast. I had it on full bore and just made it around my full car before it was all gone - small car too. Now, I had excellent suds this way though (can't remember which type exactly, but it was just some Amor All car wash).

The next day, I gave it a try with my wife's Subaru Forester, much bigger than my little GTI. Same amount of Armor All (4oz) as the first time, with water filled just over the 8oz line. This time I put the ratio lever at about 70%-80%. I still had good suds, and had more than enough to cover the car once, and then had some left over for touch-up spots after hand washing.

Worked out really well at that lever ratio I'd say. I know the soap:water in the container isn't optimal, but that's why I just used cheap wash in there. Will probably keep it that way.

I like mine...working great so far.

Would like more foam...gotta play around with it.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcCR7US3NQE]Foam Lance MTM - YouTube[/video] This is what I use and it really puts the suds out. Read down a little after watching the video. You will see where the guy states that he does this "twice" to his car and then he does not use a 2 bucket wash. Myself, I'm a firm believer in a 2 bucket wash no matter if I was to suds my truck up once or three times. As you well know, you have to bring all the dirt to the surface (which the suds do) and then wash it.

I then use a sheet rinsing method, getting most of the water off and then a Master Blaster to air blow the rest of the water. Follow that up with a double MF towel, misting with Detail spray.

Just a suggestion but I'd try another brand of soap or make some kind of an adjustment with the water or soap. The pictures appear to show that you are not getting enough suds and their not staying on long enough to bring all the dirt to the surface.

I don't use that particular brand of soap that you will see in the video. I use what is called Car Shampoo. Use it to foam the truck and then also use it with the 2 bucket wash.

Good luck. :props:

Can someone show the right adapter again for an electric pressure washer? since the homedepot does not recognize the sites from earlier.

with all the different brand electric pressure washers they may all have different fittings and adapters needed. what brand pressure washer u got , and then can u show pic of the fitting end ? if u don't have a pressure washer yet u best bet is to get one that has quick release on end to change tips and such . quick release similar to air line fittings but they are not the same . most has p.w have these type and electric depends . a better brand or more pricier brand may have that quick release tips that a foam cannon can attach right to it with no adapters. I have a greenworks brand from lowes . hope that helps a little

What a novel product name.

In the video, it appears to not use that much soap (diluted at that) in the process. I am guessing one complete coverage pass took under 30 seconds actual "foam" time.

Bought kit today from HOMEDEPOT ($9.00) WITH TAX WORKS WITH g-fOAM SYSTEM AND MY REGULAR FOAM CANNON

Hey 215...

Does this work with the AR Blue 383 1900psi model as well? I went to Home Depot tonight to buy this, but the only one they had on the shelves was opened and someone stole a couple of the adapters. Please let me know and join in on my specific thread for a solution here: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...oduct-review-pressure-washer-foam-cannon.html

Thanks! :)

man i was just looking at these foam cannons at home depot....was bout to drop 120 .....you just saved me a hundred bucks

I have this one, in this thread

I have an older Husky 1750 psi pressure washer which uses the Bosch Style connector. I would like to order the MTM Hydro, or the G-Foam Blaster, but cannot figure out how to get them to connect. I don't want to order a foamer that I can't use.
AG sells the following adapter. Will this directly fit either of the above foamers?

Bosch Pressure Washer Fitting

Apparently the G-Foam only uses a 1/4" quick disconnect, but the MTM can use 1/4" quick disconnect, or M22 threaded in place of the 1/4".

I'd love to get a power washer and one of the foam guns, but it seems not everyone has the same results based on soap, pressure washer, etc. Blah, maybe I'll stick to 'the mitt'

Can someone explain how this is better than washing with the two bucket method? It seems to add an extra step since you're foaming the car and rinsing it off then foaming it again then washing it with two buckets.

The home-depot foamer lasted me maybe 20-30 uses then it petered out. I still think I got my monies worth.

The foam is supposed to lift up dirt, and when you wash them off you have less dirt on the car. Less dirt when hand washing is supposed to mean less swirls. :xyxthumbs:

Yeah, it adds a step. Or if you're lazy like me, apply opticoat. Then foam car. Rinse car. Dry car. Done :)
