On my way
So, I have attempted to do my first correction on my truck. Gotta say I am amazed at the results but what a killer it was to get there. After approx 25 hours, 15+ on the compounding alone, I have only completed HALF of my truck. There are so many curves and contours to work with, technique took a bit to get down. Since I do not have a garage large enough to store my truck, it will be outside being pounded by the elements until I can figure in another two plus days to work on it with the cab and front end needing done.
So far, my bed cover, rear fenders and tailgate have been completed.

Day 1 Started at 0700 hrs, 40 degrees
Washed and air dried entire truck. Pulled truck; cab first in garage.
Proceeded to work rear of the truck as the Sun was expected to rise soon and I was afraid of working in direct sunlight.
Taped off areas.
Clayed only rear of the truck (fenders, tailgate, and truck cover)
After testing, found orange Pad with WG Swirl removed almost all imperfections with an average of 4-6 passes per section.
Completed compounding of left/ right fender, tailgate and approx 1/2 of bed cover.
Pulled truck out of garage.
Ended at 1950 hrs
Day 2 Start at 0800 hrs 45 degrees
Reversed truck in garage.
With detailing spray, wiped off all dust that had accumulated over night.
Continued Compounding cover. Ran low on WG Swirl Remover so changed over to new Orange Pad and UC. I was surprised buy this but after checking with Xeon spot light, I saw what looked like tiny C like scratches being left behind. Check a previous section with the older WG combo and everything looked good. Continued on and kept seeing the C's so I prepped yet another Orange pad with UC thinking that the first pad may have picked up something that I couldn't clean away. But no change. So I opened the bottle of WG Swirl Remover and got out as much as I could to finish the compound job with no other issues. It is apparent that between the two new Orange Pads and UC, I was seeing additional scratches. I debated to try the UP but had already made my mind up to stick with WG in this case.
Polishing went by much quicker using a Black Pad and WG Glaze, may have taken about 5-6 hrs. What scratches were created with UC combo had been removed during polishing.
Applied wax via PC. Removed wax on cover via PC but the rest was by hand. Inlcuding drying, took about 2-3 hrs.
Pulled truck out of garage.
Ended at 1800 hrs
The Dual Xeon Spot light is an Absolute must. Love that light so much.
I had anticipated this being a 24 hour job and obviously I was wrong. No fault though, the professionals I payed didnt even get this far with the 8 hrs they had it.
I've learned a lot but got more to go. Plus, I feel like I have spent two days in a washing machine I am so sore. Can't thank Mike.Phillips and his documentation and everyone else enough.
