Let me preface with I'm a GT V8 owner.

On vaca in AZ and really enjoying my Mustang EcoBoost.

As the owner of a GT, I can say I am overly thrilled with this car. I'm shocked and thrilled with the performance, fit and finish. I was skeptical at the thought of a 4cyl in a Mustang, but no more. The power is unbelievable and you'll never know its a 4. I had a blast going from Sedona to Flagstaff on the switchbacks in track mode. Plus I'm pulling an average of 30 mpg's.

For those thinking of one, rent one. You will love this car! Hats off to Dave P. of Ford.

I love the one I have rented and can see adding another horse to my stable.

Ha, that's funny. Makes me think of the Fox-body Mustangs with the 4 cyl turbo and its failed attempt to become a performance alternative to the V-8. All they needed was another 35 years (and a few gas price swings) to perfect it.

Yes the SVO mustang was before its time but just didnt pan out. I have buddies with 4 cyl turbo cars with 800 hp running mid tens in the quarter and thats with no traction 3\4 down the track on slicks! Turbos are def the wave of the future

The SVO was later and was a successful implementation; I was referring to the 2.3 turbo circa 1979.

EDIT: Thanks, I had forgotten all about the SVO, really, which came out in '84. Of course, if I'm remembering correctly, that was a limited production vehicle, so it wasn't really mainstreamed in the way the '79 4 cyl turbo was (in that you could get one by checking the option box) or the way the Eco-Boost is today.

I didnt know they did an earlier turbo car in 79. Thanks for pointing that out. Alot of people forget that fox bodys started in 79. Most people hear fox body and only think of the mid 80s and early 90s body style....its been a few years but im actually in the market for another fox body project...here in n.c. they are either fully built and expensive or immaculate with low low miles expensive. So im kinda have trouble finding that in between lol. Back to the original post...ive heard great things about the ecoboost!

Amazing what they can pull power-wise now out of a turbo-charged 4-cyl :xyxthumbs:

FYI- my husband's 4-cyl Saturn has 500hp at the crank :righton:

You can buy a tuner from ford for 500 bucks and not void warranty with using fords brand.

Fox body mustangs were from the fairmont which was not a popular car

I have a 2015 GT and I love it!

Dying to drive the EB to see what it is all about. Glad you enjoyed it, OP!
